Don't you mean "surprise" twist.

One of those movies that is absolutely excellent up until the end. It'll be interesting to see how Aja deals with the Hill's remake. Its written by Levasseur as well isn't it?

I don't go around speaking out load to my tv usually, but I when that happened my first reaction was to yell out "you idiot" (aimed at the director).
I agree, it was a great movie up until the twist. I still think it's an excellent movie overall though, but it's just that it could have been better without the twist. It's like the director tried to make the movie too smart when it didn't have to be - it was already more than smart enough just as a straight slasher prior to that twist.
I'm probably alone on this, but I think that's part of where Wolf Creek tops Haute Tension. WC is just straight to the point, sure it doesn't have as much gore as HT, but it's more intense in my opinion.
