The Eye - the scene where the girl is in the elevator and the ghost appears behind her & scene where a ghost appears in the chair. Scared the shit out of me :matrix:

Last time a film really scared me? This will probably sound laughable to most of you, but the first time I saw Carpenters 'Prince Of Darkness' about ten years ago, the end, when the womans standing in the doorway really scared me. It was the whole "What happened to her, what has she become?" thing. It was on TV a couple of weeks back, but I drunkenly fell asleep. Oh well.

Can't say that that one scared me because I saw it too late in life, but it definitely does everything right in the scares department.

Late in life? Bugger. I was about 19 or 20. Oh well, guess I was just a bit of a fruitcup at that age.

I believe the scariest was demonic toys (1992). I had some toys that looked like those in that movie, very scary indeed. Scary enough for me to through out those toys, and I didnt have a lot of toys.

Actually, having seen it recently, I'd also like to nominate the scene in 'Fragile', when the 'nurse' is seen for the first time. My wife laughed at my big girls blouse reaction.

Last time I was scared was last week watching this doco on the idiot box. Was so freaked I had to find my own copy on the net to show my friends. I guess my reaction was amplified by the fact that I had visited Russia, Belarus and Poland late last year, and could see some of these girls on the street..........

ed2k: Sex Slaves - Frontline.avi  [359.15 Mb] [Stats]

The doco is basically about the eastern European sex slave trade and follows one man whos 4 month pregnant wife went with a 'friend' across the border to Turkey I think and was sold on the black market for a thousand dollars. He walks a tightrope to try and negotiate getting her back. The doco also interviews some of the traders and some of the victims.

I think the thing that got me was how calmly the husband seemed to cope with a situation beyond the scope of most peoples imaginings, and the indifference of the justice systems there.

For me it was a very nasty and scary look into the depths of humanity.....

And then there was this site I visited this week......

Silent Hill was the last time I was reallly scared. The film's climax (church revenge) was so exagerated that it freaked me out. Silent Hill is definately my favorite horror movie ( Dawn of the Dead used to be).
