Talk about blowing the other acts out of the water, the younger bands didn't stand a chance. Desperately short though, but definitely sweet :)

Here's their songs in FLAC format:

There's also mp3s if you prefer compressed:

As for the music video, I can't confirm which one is best, there's quite a number

And since its not totally without cause, sign this too:
http://www.live8live.com/list/
There's like several million signatures :)

As far as the rest of the concert went, its a tad hard to cater for everyone, and lol @ no1 recognising Velvet Revolver. Vocals stank but i knew i'd seen that guitarist before :wacky:

One thing that really suprised me was someone thinking it would be a good idea to
shedual Snoop Dogg at 6pm BBC1, my poor ears have never heard so much swearing!
and if the Daily Mail didn't have enough to complain about?

I don't know, moral standards these days... :D

lol to be fair, madonna and god only who else said fuck about 40 times anyway. I think greenday @ germany beat snoop dogg to the lord of the fuckers didn't they? Only to be, snoop dogg is well too shit to make it into the prime time slots

What suprised me is they let the BBC handle live feeds! They are hopeless at it.

As for the Daily Mail, they too busy fucking themselves with a broom handle and slating Africa, charity and whatever else fills the NF agenda these days to notice.

That's the first time I've seen David Gilmore with his head shaved. Looks cool. They now need to get into the studio and lay down some tracks before the fighting starts again. :argue:

I didn't catch any of this. Tbh, the first I heard of Live8 was like a week ago on the radio at work, then suddenly squillions of people are there at concerts supporting it.

Now, this isn't nice, but I get the overwhelming feeling that Bob wants to be back in the spotlight. I think it was Midge Ure in the Band Aid documentary that literally stated along the lines of 'Bob's musical career was dying so he set out on a new mission..." etc - Great respect for what
he does achieve, but still...the thought lingers.

And @ the original post - I'm not a fan of Pink Floyd at all, but given the choice of attending their concert versus some young synth crap of today, the numbs win every time.

Hope I didn't tick anyone off too much with this post.
But if I did and you want to start a fight: :matrix: :eatthis:

Mantronix, don't think thats really the point, apparantly bob geldoff nagged him to death but the cynical view might be like that, the more accurate view in my opinion is that he certainly didn't have anything better to do... these days, that's a certainty

Floyd are awesome, one of my all time favourite bands. Its okay if you don't like them really, since its pretty much 'beneath' them in the scale of things, they were never globally liked, but given the influence on music they can't be denied of putting out, they are rightly one of the most influential bands around. The boys done good.

As far as 70s music goes, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish you were here and The Wall are probably the best albums, and back to back by the same band? Amazing!

I think that needs a guitar solo...
/me starts twanking
