Just a heads up for UK members, BBC2 on Monday 5th are showing The American Nightmare at 11.20.

The write-ups on IMDb are all raves, even the Radio Times gives it 4 stars.

Hell yeah Bonnie!

I'm gonna watch it, but knowing me I'll miss the bloody thing anyway, so a rip would be good!

You watched it then?
Is it as good as it looks/should be?

I've just found out that it is also on the Anchor Bay R2 edition of The Hills Have Eyes.

I found it really interesting even if I don't remember it very well since I watched it long ago when I bought the DVD, which must have been like 2 years ago. Anyway, I remember I appreciated very much the part on David Cronenberg which is often put aside when it comes to horror movies because considered too 'elitist'.

I'm sure you guys will love this stuff, 'cause anyway, it's still rare to see interviews of so many big names of horror history !!

I think this is the same one that was shown on the Independent Film Channel here in the US. It's fascinating with tons of interviews and clips with people like Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper, David Cronenberg and George Romero. Well worth seeking out. I heard that the UK version has been cut slightly by the BBFC though.

dont think the bbfc wouldnt have cut it as they regulate only cinema and video/dvd not tv - which for expmple was why c5 showed Batman Returns uncut (albeit in full screen  )

Usually TV stations are required to show BBFC-approved versions of movies, especially since TV guides print the BBFC ratings for them. Sometimes the odd movie slips through, and I think the ITC (or whatever the new version is called) only knows if someone complains.

I think scenes from TLHOTL were cut in American Nightmare by the BBFC, I'm not sure if they were cut on BBC2 or not.
