Quote:
"In the misty morning, following his night of werewolf horror in the original DOG SOLDIERS, Pvt. Lawrence Cooper surveys the rubble of the Scottish farmhouse, battered and bruised from the battle. He has lost everything he knew to the werewolf family; his fellow soldiers, his father figure sergeant, his faith in women and his disbelief in the supernatural. Cooper and the only other survivor, Sam the dog, begin their long trek toward civilization, satisfied that the werewolf family was killed in the farmhouse explosion.

"Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, the U.S. Special Forces team that was originally sent to participate in a series of war games with Cooper's team waits impatiently. Col. Benjamin Parker sends two of his men off to see if there is any sign of the British team. They return with Cooper, who tells them an unbelievable tale about the night he and his platoon were besieged by a family of werewolves.

"Just as Parker is about to write off Cooper as a mass murderer, a second wounded British soldier is brought into the U.S. camp. He introduces himself as British Special OPS Pvt. Kevin Erickson, lone survivor of the werewolf attack on Sgt. Ryan's platoon in the original film. Erickson reports the werewolf attack on his platoon to the soldiers. He escaped with a few other soldiers to a cave near a stream. During the night, Erickson watched as one by one his platoon died, only to be resurrected, transformed into werewolves: Dog Soldiers!

"Parker has had enough of the werewolf tales, puts both men under arrest and banishes them to a secured tent until they can all be picked up by a rendezvous ship in the morning. When Cooper reveals his photographic evidence from the farmhouse, Parker sends out three of his men to the shattered farmhouse to corroborate Cooper's story. The U.S. soldiers arrive at the farmhouse...just at moonrise. They are greeted by a bone-chilling howl that shatters the still of the night.

"What follows is a night of ultimate horror as the U.S. forces, armed to the teeth with modern warfare technology, are about to take on their greatest foe, savage supernatural beasts who think and act like soldiers. The battle for humanity will be fought on this night...Man vs. Beast...Soldier vs. Dog Soldier!"

DOG SOLDIERS 2: DEAD MEAT will be produced by the encoring David E. Allen under his Kismet Entertainment Group/Graveyard Filmworks banner. Eric Miller penned the screenplay, based on a story by Allen and CEMETERY GATES' Brian Patrick O'Toole. A director has yet to be signed."

I really liked Dog Soldiers, so hoping this one will be good also.
In production now by <a href="http://www.kismetent.com/projects.html" target=blank>Kismet Entertainment</a>
Kismet's first film, Dog Soldiers, an action-horror picture set in the Scottish highlands, was winner of the 2002 Brussels Film Festival Of Fantastic Films, the 2002 Luxembourg International Film Festival, and the 2003 Saturn Award for best DVD.
And looks like they're sticking with the winning formula

nice, i also enjoyed the first one. i even think it's the best werewolf flick. don't like the others a lot. maybe with the exception of the first two 'Ginger Snaps'. so i'm looking forward to this one as well.

The first one was great. They'll either hit the same groove or fuck it up completely for the 2nd one. My money's on the former. :(

I also really hope they don't fuck this up. I don't think it'll be possible to come up with characters as great as in the first.

Loved the first one, but you just know they are really really going to screw this up a treat.

The first movie, was, as already stated the best werewolf movie to date IMO. However the thought of predominantly US soldiers in the sequel just doesn't seem right to me. Makes me wonder if the backers are American and it will turn into some slushy crap. *Thinks - The Grudge* YUK!!!

As an afterthought, CGI werewolves - OH NO!!!!!!!!!

hmm i wasnt too impressed with the 1st one and think that nowt beats An American werewolf in London. i also preferred The Company of Wolves, Ginger Snaps & The Howling to Dog Soldiers but that my preference. then again i think i only saw the cut version of this and never got round to watching the unedited version, though i'm not sure a little extra gore could have improved it much....

Your right about American Werewolf methinks.

Awesome, the first Dog Soldiers is absolutely cool... one of the best Werewolf movies around.

As for CGI, they made such a song and dance about not using it in the first, I don't think they're going to be overindulgent this time.

I think it's 90% that they'll stick to what worked in part 1, for this one.

If it ain't broke in all, blah blah blah ........

Plus doesn't look like "hollywood" is too involved, so no stuff like
"No yeah need a strong female part, preferably african american....... and would it hurt to have a goodie werewolf and a hint of romance between the 2, it worked in AVP!"

Umm, surely it would need to be filmed first??

As it's been nowhere near a camera as yet, the chances of it appearing on p2p are pretty slim

Well, I can see why he'd ask. The poster at the top of the thread says it hits theaters in October of 2005.

With a heavy heart, I feel this film isn't gonna happen. I hope I'm proved wrong, but more importantly, I hope it captures the same spirit as the original, which is in my top 5 films ever. Not just horror films, anything! I love it that much.

I think you're right, Perkin2000, to not have come up with enough funding byb now is usually the kiss of death for a moviea, or worse it could be another Alien vs Predator :o
