I would love to see more on how it all started and developed.

Fascination - most Rollin films are very boring because nothing happens and therefore I was a bit surprised that this was one wasn't boring. It was the first Rollin vampireflick I actually liked a bit. This is one of his later films which I have in my collection, so maybe I just dislike his first period. I hope so, becaue then the worst is behind me now :) The acting is quite OK, and it has some members of the typical Rollin cast. Again, not a lot of blood, but you can actually follow a storyline, which is nice for a change. If you really want to watch Rollin vampire movies, pick this one.

Alien 4: Resurrection - after having read spud's opinion on this one (I believe this is his favourite Alien movie), I went in it to see what it'd be. I disliked Alien 3 more than parts 1 and 2. Well, this is not very special either. In fact, I felt that they were mocking the series a bit by making stupid jokes and adding a comic note (the handicapped guy) and I just HATE comic notes. Also the thing with Ripley being infected and/or alien herself or not, is a bit badly played out. It is pretty inconsistent throughout the movie. I was totally in for a half-alienated Ripley commanding hordes of aliens devouing earth, but I didn't get that. Shame. Oh, and Winona Ryder is a cutie, but she cannot replace Bishop, although it was brave of her to try.

My Bloody Valentine - the 1981 film. Not being so much into slashers, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Atmosphere, characters, well it is an 80s film and a good one too. I totally didn't guess, btw, I was just enjoying the movie that I forgot to concentrate on who the killer might be. I think that can be noted as a compliment to the filmmakers. Recommended!

Demon Under Glass - blegh, this was very boring. This wasn't a vampiremovie, or a horror for that matter. It was a very long and dragging episode of ER, with no subplots, just one storyline and the patient is a vampire, That's it. Boring!!

Too long IMO, they should have made it ~30 minutes shorter and it would have been good enough. The pace is just a bit too slow for me, gave me too much time to think it through so I saw the twist coming from miles ahead.

Really enjoyed this one, only negative thing I can think of is the ending, they should have done something else IMO. Jackie Berroyer and Jean-Luc Couchard both performed really well and so did the lead actor aswell.

The Initiation - 80s slasher starring Daphne Zuniga (who later played the princess in Spaceballs). Well, if you know me, you can guess what is coming now: great atmosphere, nice music, acting is OK. I like Daphne a lot! towards the end of the movie you get a lot of ideas on who the killer might be, but it was a surprise after all. I had made an assumption which was actually more complicated than the actual outcome ;) Recommended.

Spirit Camp - this one looked and sounded a lot like Chainsaw Cheerleaders. Maybe it is a remake of that one, with more money involved. It has some good looking girls, I noticed that the "Goth girl" looked a lot like the same character in Chainsaw Cheerleaders, whereas there are hundreds of variations possible with "Goth girls". The story evolves a little differently, though. There is no weird demon inside of one of the cheerleaders, there is a killer in their environment, however. I had two characters in mind, it turned out to be the second one. It is not so bad, so recommended as well.

Conquest - this Fulci movie I almost bought, but someone else was quicker on the mousebutton, so I downloaded it instead. There are three rips posted on here, but only the oldest rip had some sources (the Bonnie and Clyde rip). It was hard to watch, there were so many broken frames in this one, almost EVERY shot has broken frames, sometimes half of the screen is blue or white because of it. There is a lot of smoke in this film, and also fire, which makes matters worse. OK, on to the story: this is a very atypical Fulci, as it is a fantasy flick with some monsters, heroes, etc. There are a bunch of killings in which you can recognise the hand of Lucio. The story doesn't have much merit to it, especially if you have seen other fantasy movies. Some of the effects are laughable, like the birds in the sky, man, that was sad. If you really want to see this (and I can udnerstand if you like bad movies), ask for a reshare on one of the more recent rips, as the bonnie-rip makes your eyes bleed.

Graveyard Shift - this story takes place in a textile mill, where a team of workers has to clean up the basement. It is infested with rats, and even Brad Dourif (as the Vietnam Vet exterminator) can't wipe 'em all out. From time to time, someone working in the mill disappears. The hero of the story finds a hidden hatch (Lost, anyone? ;)) and then they start to explore. There they find the cause for the disappearances. This movie is simple, flatlined, straightforward, no mumbo jumbo. Enjoyable enough, just don't expect multi layered plots, or surprising twists.

The Astral Factor - wow, this was boring! It is a film in my Scifi box, but the only thing scifi about it is that the culprit can make himself invisible, which makes it very easy for him to kill women, which he wants to do because he has a trauma concerning his mother. So several women die and then a policeman shoots the invisible guy, turning him visible again and then he dies. Oh, now I told the entire movie. Well, good for you guys, now you don't have to sit through it for 97 minutes. Avoid.

Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989): If you are into pure nonsense slasher movies. Grab this one. Basically it is nothing more than a string of kills by Jason. The main location of the movie is not Manhattan, but a ship. Some teens use it to celebrate and travel to New York. Of course Jason gets on the ship and starts killing everyone. There is a weak subplot about the connection of the heroine and Jason, but it's quite dull imho. Pretty forgettable sequel. But watch out for the box fight between the black guy and Jason. That punch was a sure knock out (or should I say knock off). - watch here @ 5:30 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR9P_EO9Y6k

Five Across the Eyes - I was prepared for another one of those "teenagers get in trouble after a party and a killer tries to mutilate them all" movies. Well, this was different. Not entirely, because there is a group of girls who have been to this party and they do get int rouble afterards when they take a different road back. A psychotic woman starts to pursue them and mistreat/abuse them when she catches them. The makers of this one probably wanted to make some sort of Last House on the Left-like movie. While a LOT of stuff is improbable to the brink of madness, this was still an OK movie to watch. There were even some moments where I was thinking what I would do in such a situation. Some stuff is gross just to have gross stuff in the film, but it is not so bad after all. I'm not recommending this, as it isn't a masterpiece, but if you want to have some sort of modern day rape/revenge movie, watch this one.

Vampires: Out For Blood - yay, Kevin Dillon and Lance Henriksen! They make this film, which is a story about a policeman who discovers a coven of vampires and then of course nobidy believes him. With help of his ex-wife, an author who writes a lot about vampires, he tracks them down. Atmosphere is nice, the outfits of Layla the vampire are very nice, and there is even a short period in the movie where you are starting to doubt everything you have seen earlier, very well done by the filmmakers. Recommended.

The Robot Monster - haha, this one was hilarious! For cult- and bad moviefans only, I'm afraid. The Robot Monster (Ro-Man) is a guy in a gorilla suit with a diving helmet on his head. Mankind has been destroyed, except for 6 people, and now Ro-Man must make sure they are going to be destroyed as well. To do this, he has a calcinator death ray! Which means a lot of flickering on the screen. There isn't really any plot, so not much to tell about it. Recommended for bad moviefans.

The Curse of King Tut's Tomb - this is a 2 part mini series, and part 1 I had watched months ago with the gf, but she didn't want to finish it, so I finished it yesterday night. It has Casper van Dien who is Danny Fremont, an Indiana Jones rip-off who finds the grave of Tutanchamon. Of course bad guys want to have their share in the trasures, especially some emerald tablet because they can rule the world with it. Yes, I know. Then there is lovely Leonor Varela, with her Latin passion she has to portray an Egyptian woman (??? miscast!) who of course ultimately falls in love with Danny. There is a lot of CGI, but it doesn't get too ugly, although it is on the edge time and again. Although there is a lot of supernatural stuff going on and there is a demon in the end, I would not lost this as horror, this is more an adventure thing for kids (around 10 years old or something).

Boo - on Halloween a group of teenagers/students goes into an abandoned hospital to get scared. The third floor of the hospital used to be the psych ward and i hanuted now, as the guy who sets the scary traps finds out soon. Then the countdown begins as the ghost is hunting down the kids one by one, turning or killing them. To kill a ghost is easy: you shoot it and it will explode. Atmosphere was OK throughout, creepy enough for a story like this. Acting was OK too, nothing special. There are no surprising twists, some plot stuff comes into play after you have waited for it (like the cop who eventually enters the building - you just know that he will do so, the only question is when). There are good and bad ghosts, and there is some plottwist with one of them. Nice movie, but there is better ghost stuff out there, although this one gets very gory at times. Mildly recommended.

Attack of the Monsters - bad movie galore, this one. A kid's movie again (there was a curse on last night, I'm sure), the two main caharacters are children who enter a spaceship and fly off. Then they have to be saved by Gamera, the flying turtle. Gamera in itself is hilarious and the way he is represented as the big saviour makes this even better. Effects are great as ever in this kind of movies and of course all ends well. Recommended for bad moviefans.

She Gods of Shark Reef - this title promises a lot for bad moviefan, but alas, it doesn't fulfill. I really hope there are some not so boring movies to come in this scifi box I have. Basically it goes down like this: a ship gets wrecked in a storm and two men end up on an island inhabited by women only. Now thi can be a great premise, for a nice bad movie or even a somehwat good one. But all that happens is that one guy falls in love with a bad English speking girl, the old woman thinks both men are taboo and the other guy just wants to escape the island. And that's it. There is nothing more to it. At all. Boring crap.

This movie was entertaining enough to sit through the 98 minutes it lasts. Great shots/location(s) and atmosphere but IMO it lacked some suspense and/or action. If they soehow managed to get more of that in it it would have been great. And it was nice for a change that I didn't see the revealing of the plot coming.

Super Badass - very low budget and it shows. It is about a farmer guy who turns bounty hunter. Simnply sauid, it goes like this: criminal kills people, fat smoking guy calls "Super Badass, we've got a problem" and then this weirdly dressed guy goes and kills the criminal. There is also a courtscene, which is totally absurd, like most of the movie. The criminals are weird too. There is a lot of gore, which makes up for some of the stupidity in the movie. All in all this is only for bad moviefans, they will find a lot to like in this one.

The Amazing Transparent Man - to steal a large amount of gold, a criminal who is on the run is used in scientific experiments in order to make him invisible. With the guinea pig the tests all run fine and it can be restored to full visibility wothout any problems. So the scientists, continue with the criminal this time. Very short story and very simple, the movie only lasts for an hour. Nothing very special going on.

Blades - a large lawnmower ruins the fun on a golfcourt by slashing people into bloody pulp. This alone should be enough for anyone to go watch this movie. I had great fun with all the cliches, from the love triangle to the golfcourse owner, and of course the lawnmower. At times it reminded me of Jaws. I'll release this gem soon, so keep an eye out for it! Recommended.

Sinners - weak action film which I thought would maybe be something like the BBB films. It wasn't, there was only 1 chick in a nice outfit shooting bad guys. All other stuff was boring and predictable. A lot of people die, but only a few do so in a nice way. Nothing to see here, please move along.

The Atomic Brain - transplanting brains was a distant future thing back in the 50s I guess, because they made a film about it. The funniest thing in this 1 hour feature was the girl who received a cat's brain and then started to behave like one. All other stuff was boring again.

Slash - nice slasher, with a rockband who ends up on the farm of the singer's father, plays a key role. It was nice to see Zuleikha Robinson from Lost, and I enjoyed the story, even though it isn't very originl. The performances are good, how this film is made is good too. The only thing I disliked was the ending, as it is too incredible, but it is a minor flaw in an otherwise good movie. Recommended.

Puppet Master - I had seen Puppet Master III already, so I was exopecting more nazis and more puppets in this one. The nazi part is very, very shortlived, but the puppets are present as always. Blade is my favourite puppet and in this movie you can see why, because he has the most spectacular moves (I mean, what can Tunneler do? Drill holes, woo) of all. The thing with the psychic people got a bit lost on me, because at first it wasn't so clear to me what they were doing there. I found out later, but it was a bit too late then imo (might have been me, though). Great movie, a must see for everyone.

Horrors of Spider Island - originally in German, the dub looks ridiculous at times (mouth movement and audio), but since this isn't a masterpiece at all, it doesn't really matter. After a planecrash a bunch of dancer girls and their manger end up on an island. There they find the professor dead in a spider's web. After a while, the manager gets attacked by a spider. After this attack, who will survive? *Pom, pom, poooom*. I would have loved to see more spider action in this one, the monster factor plays out differently, in a way I find childish and cheap. With more spiders and a larger role for them this would have been great for bad moviefans. Now it is not a must see, but still a great ride if you like movies to laugh about.

April Fool's Day - a slasher which isn't cliche is always nice. This movie brings a group of young people to an island where they start to disappear. So far nothing new. But then you start thinking about who might be the killer and in the end, you will have the feeling that you have been April fooled by the director. Great movie, recommended.

Life Blood - bad vampiremovie with some serious cases of overacting and the ugliest sorry excuse for CGI: they actually made CGI fire to burn the vampires with, argh. Many vampires in this movie kill their victims with knives or guns (wtf??) and they get killed pretty easily too, by an average Joe, of all people. This guy is killing them because he wants revenge for his wife. There is some stupid subplot about descendants beuing needed to revive an ancient countess. Wow, that looked dumb. Only for bad moviefans.

Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet - I had read already that the movie with the similar name (Voyage to the Planet of the Prehistoric Women) had 'borrowed' a lot of footage from this film. I had expected they stole the monster sequences, but those are actually genuine in Prehistoric Women: it is almost everything else they stole! The storylines are therefore almost equal and the hilarious spacecar is in this one too. Recommended for bad moviefans.
