im still not much in favor of new xvid rips ( even 1400 mb) of movies we've already got. Sure the extra's would be cool, but its still xvid.

Since i've got a dvd burner im a fan of dvdrs and try to replace as much xvids as possible. Im sure that with the people here we can put a releaselist of the existing dvd(r)'s together.

the ones that have NO official dvdr's (yet) we could try to make into custom dvdr's with as much (original) extra's as possible....

how about this idea?

I can fill some of the gaps in the Art of the Nasty collection if you were to do that, but the thing is some of those movies are far too rare. Pets was on eBay last week I think, but some on the list are even rarer.

A pre-cert website has started up now: http://www.pre-cert.co.uk they have a huge database listing almost every pre-cert and most have small scans of the front cover. It's well worth checking out, and you can see the cover for E.T.n there too!

I'm still thinking what to do with the Art of the Nasty collection, I have ordered the book and will be using this as a reference point once it arrives.

There are a number of issues here though:

1. I would have thought some of the films in the list have no place on this site, particularly hardcore pr0n such as Pussy Talk. Maybe also Come Play With Me (70's British sex comedy), Girl On A Motorcycle (60's art movie) etc.

2. There is a massive overlap with the VN1/2 collections.

3. I have a number of these films on DVD and have no intention of downloading them just to verify so would need help verifying available rips.

Anyone got any opinions on these issues?

BTW the rarest film on the list is already available, IMO it is Wrong Way. Funny how this could be picked up for a fiver 10 years or so back whereas some of the nasties that were going for ?40 at that time can be picked up for a couple of quid now :wacky:

maybe its just me but following a "list" as a guideline for a collection seems like a simple thing ;-)

just list the movies from the book from 1, 2 , 3 , ... etc just like the old collections.

about the issues you mention:

-1 true, hhah is mainly about horror but there are some art and even adult movies too, also in the normal Vn1 and Vn2 there are some very explicit movies like Death Shock or even some of the naziploitation flicks... i'd say a complete list deserves all the movies, because else its just not a complete list. As for the porn aspect, yeah im a bit older too and don't care about it, but i just like complete lists. If someone doesn't want a movie then don't download it. It's free remember ;-)

-2 About the overlap: jup but those are already verified then, no way to change that, unless you take another list to complete and that wouldn't be related to "the nasties" then, would it? ;-)

-3 Im sure some people would like to help out verifying (i would) or even appreciate a new rip...

For the rest there is not much to say further. JUST MAKE THE LIST!!!!!!

hehehe, if you need any help just pm me, i might be able to release a few if needed.

Thanks for the feedback cybersatan, I had thought myself that it needs to be complete, I guess the old VN collection is so out of date that a new one would be worthwhile anyway, Iconoclast hasn't been around to update it for nearly two years now and a number of better rips have cropped up since then.

I have seen bits of Pussy Talk, never seen it right through, and it is way more explicit than stuff like Death Shock though. If Spud and the mods don't have a problem with having Pussy Talk on the site then OK, I'll add it.

As I said though I don't actually have the book yet although I should have it within the next few days.

I've got the book now, there are 304 films in the book and I will be including Human Experiments, just because the book left out an official nasty doesn't mean I'm going to copy their error. Having the book helps matters because it has the director and video label so it helps identify which film is which where 2 films had the same name. Don't expect the collection anytime soon though, this will be a slow job.

Can anyone help me regarding where to find coverscans (front covers only, Skanners has most of these but they are front and back and also have graffiti on them presumably to stop linking) and does anyone have a script to upload files en masse?

Where possible I will be pillaging other collections to get the info, apologies in advance to Iconoclast, Storm and Dxa whose collections are going to get plagiarised, saves me a lot of work

However I'm not sure it's worthwhile listing alternate rips if one rip is known to blow the others out of the water. For example the verified rip of Blood Feast in the VN2 collection is not IVTC'd IIRC and is certainly badly interlaced and has 2 mins of corruption in it, so IMO there is no point even listing this when RoTTeN released a pristine rip recently.

I reckon the only times it is worth listing multiple rips are either when they are all unverified or the only verified rip is poor quality, or when there are reasons people may want more than one rip, for example Ferox's rip of Bloody Moon is from the Dutch DVD source which is known to have 7 seconds cut and the audio in the prologue out of sync (on the DVD, not a criticism of Ferox) whereas BlackThrash's rip is uncut but is VHS sourced and has Windows sound effects at various points in the film. Would everyone agree with this or do you want all known rips listing even if they are known to be poor?

OK, I've found a suitable source for the images, at least a very large percentage of them, and a program to convert them to jpg, but does anyone have a script to upload them as a batch? I really don't want to upload 305 images manually.

If you sign up for an imageshack account, you can upload a zip archive of images.

I think. :?

yeah it's expensive, the thing is that there is a whole world out there with people collecting these hard to find original tapes, just to have the real thing. Sometimes that's hard to imagine because in places like here on hhah it's all about sharing and releasing.

Further i read that article he added to the auction and my eyes stuck on this:

Quote:
This is one of the very rarest 'pre cert' tapes in existence. Forget 'Wrong Way', 'House of Perversity' or even 'Vampire Lovers' on Rank, this is arguably the rarest of the lot. This is the 1984 Video City release of 'Terror' (AKA 'La Settima Donna', 'The Last House On The Beach')

now im pretty sure i have this 'The Last House On The Beach' as a .avi rip, just looked in my humble movielist and it was there. All those aliases confused me more than once and the one i have is on imdb from 1978 instead of from 1984, so im a bit lost here. Will look this up and post later!

That's the one alright, and what's more the pre-cert had a running time of 85:24 so it looks like it was cut. I'd definitely be interested in this, thanks Cyber :beerchug:

I've got the first 3 sections typed up but there's a lot of stuff missing; all coverscans, most specs, a few aliases and plot summaries. There's a number of verified rips I don't have as I've got a good few nasties on DVD so I'll need help with gspot specs for these. Any help is appreciated, this is a massive job.
