Hey chup, nice to see some posts in here by other people The Babadook - Amelia, the mother of Samuel, hasn't found a way to cope with her husband's death seven years ago. She is still in denial and doesn't want to talk about it. Samuel is a special kid, he gets into trouble often and is very noisy and also very, very afraid of monsters. In order to cope with his fear, he fabricates a lot of weaponry, with which he breaks things and poses a threat to other people. All this makes them lonely, as Amelia's friends can't stand to be around Samuel any longer. One day, they read a weird book about the Babadook, an ominous creature, which predicts that they will have even more fear and that they will get under the influence of him: "you can't get rid of the Babadook". Samuel gets a treatment for his fears, but Amelia also gets under the influence of the monster, so much so that things get dangerous for everyone in the house. Very atmospheric film, with a lot of psychological horror. No gore and not much monster action, make this a more serious horrorfilm than most. Great acting by the main characters, the boy really gets under your skin by being very, very annoying, so kudos for his acting especially. The story is actually very sad, and the struggle to get a normal life is a hard one. The ending is nice, the symbolism is spot on. Great job, recommended.

Burying the Ex - only after I watched this, I learned that this is the new Joe Dante film. I usually like his films, and this one can be added to the list. It's a comedy with horror elements, and it is quyite funny (although it has some misses in the fun-department as well). The main characters in this film are played by Anton Yelchin, Ashley Greene and Alexandra Daddario, with Yelchin (Max) and Greene (Evelyn) starting out as a couple. They have a nice relationship, but Evelyn is pushing it a bit with her "green thinking", and she is also a bit jealous, which expresses itself in an icecream shop where Daddario (Olivia) works. When Evelyn does their apartment the environmental way, and destroys some of Max's horrorposters in the process, Max wants to break up with her. Before he can do so however, she gets hit by a bus and dies. But not quite, because before they had sex in the shop where Max works and there was a small devil statue which apaprently cursed them so when they said they would be together forever, well, now here it is. So while Max wants to go on with his life and starts dating Olivia, Evelyn comes out of the grave (nice reference to the 1971 Emilio Miraglia movie) and returns home. Now Max has to deal with both girls and wile they are both very hot, he has to make a choice at some point. Evelyn grows more zombielike with time, so it seems that this choice might not be so hard, but just like when she was alive, she is pushing it. And hard too, this time. I had a good time watching this, acting is great and the girls look tasty (although Greene loses it, of course). The story is quite funny and I had some good laughs. The whole Travis thing was a bit over the top, but it didn't ruin the film for me. Not a real horror, because the gore is quite moderate, but overall still a nice film to watch. Recommended, just keep in kind that this is a comedy mostly.

Tales of Halloween - ten short stories all taking place in one town on Halloween. Some big (B-)names are in this, like Adrienne Barbeau and Tiffany Shepis. Overall this is quite a nice experience, I had fun watching it and it was also fun to see certain persons coming back in different stories, sometimes looking the same but having a different character. Acting was good and atmosphere was also ok, the Halloween theme was very present all the way through. The big drawback on this film is the fact that there are too many stories. If they would have cut it down to like six stories and then make them all a little longer, the effect would have been greater. In this form, I was regularly a bit shocked by the fact that the story was already over. I was getting into it and then a new one already started, it felt a bit hasty because of that, or maybe I'm just getting old. Still, a nice film, so: recommended.

Alien Strain - Matthew and Rachel go on a camping trip in the desert when Rachel disappears. Matthew is determined to find her back, but as he is searching, the police starts to think he might have killed her. One year later, Rachel returns on the same spot she had disappered, and she is totally naked and very scared. They pick up where they left off with their lives, but after a while Matthew notices she has changed, and not for the best. This story is not very original, and the way it is presented is a bit confusing: Matthew is in a mental hospital and being interviewed from time to time. This part is only explained in the final scene and it is actually quite predictable why Matthew is in that hospital, the only thing which was cool is that it turns out that he is not the only character from this film ending up there. The alien from the poster is on screen for maybe 5 minutes and the flying saucer for maybe one, so good job on the advertising. I don't think I'm gonna watch this film again, it just wasn't that impressive.

John Doe Vigilante - Australian vigilante film which surprised me by having a pretty clever plot. The story starts with the outcome of atrial, the trial of the year: the man who got the nickname John Doe, and killed over 30 people, stood trial and now the verdict is being read in public, in front of the courthouse. An explosion occurs and we are in a flashback. By thee flashbacks, we get to see the whole story of John Doe, who killed so many people and why he did it. The people he killed were recidivist criminals, robbers, rapists, child molesters, murderers. He used to work as a social worker in an office for abused women, and that's how it all started. He beat up one certain guy and then he continued to hunt down the "incurable" criminals. After a while, a support group was founded, and people started killing criminals for themselves. It looks like it's getting out of hand, but then John Doe comes with a solution. Like I said, the plot is quite clever, there were some nice surprises in it, and the message is pretty clear: use modern media and you can get everything done your way. Acting was great, the mother who lost her 9-year old daughter really got to me. Although there are many killings, this is not a horrorfilm, but I can safely recommend this, even if you are a die hard genrefan.

The Town That Dreaded Sundown - belated sequel to the 1976 film of the same name. The legend of the hooded serial killer still lives on in Texarkana, the town on the border between Texas and Arkansas. Every year on Halloween the film is shown, but then one year the killer returns. He kills the boyfriend of Jami, the main character. After that, a couple is murdered and the police starts an investigation. Jami offers her help and together they find out more and more, not just about the recent killings, but also about those in the past. Story is nice, that and the atmosphere make this film quite old school. Acting is OK, the drawback for me is that the killer uses firearms, which takes away much of the charm for me. Fortunately there is also some nice slashing going on, so enough to like remains. Nice film, recommended.
Call Girl of Cthulhu - Carter is a painter and still a virgin. When he meets a call girl he falls in love with her, but what he doesn't know is that she is destined to be Cthulhu's bride. A weird church cult is gonna take care of that and they are hunting her down. In order to save her, Carter has to break the spell and take on the cult. Very tongue in cheek film with a B-movie cast and many jokes, some funnier than others. Gore is cool, effects are nice, the Cthulhu monster looks great! I had a lot of fun watching this, recommended for bad moviefans.

Cowboys vs Dinosaurs aka Jurassic Hunters - classic run of the mill monsterflick. A rich guy wants to mine iridium so he makes his team blow a hole in a tunnelwall, just to discover that there are dinosaurs behind it eating up there colleagues. The rich guy tries to prevent the story from getting out, but gossip runs wild in the small town near the mine. In the meantime, a cowboy has returned to this town, after he fell from a bull in a rodeo years back which caused him to break his shoulder, ruining his career as a rodeo rider. After that, he got addicted to both drugs and alcohol and he ditched his gf. She is now with the sheriff, who has a hard time trying his best to cover up the whole dinosaur thing, as he got promised a huge amount of money by the rich guy. Of course these two are gonna have a fit, and it's the sidestory to the cgi reptiles going rampant in the surroundings, and eventually in the town itself too. Cliches are piled up on top of each other (as you might have noticed already reading this), but there are some nice scenes with a blonde sporting an AK47. Overall this is a fastfood-like film, with mediocre to bad acting, mediocre to bad cgi and a ridiculous story. Only to be watched with friends and unsober, I guess.

Another World - aka Olam Aher. Adervtised as the first big Israeli production in the English language. That might be so, but that doesn't make it a good film. The film is carried by four characters, two men and two women, who have to survive in a post apocalyptic world where all of mankind has been infected with something. A voice over (which is from time to time quite annoying) tells you what might be the cause and gives a little background info. At one pointm, the four meet a fifth person, but he is infected and they suspect him from leading the infected to their respective hiding places. They are armed to the teeth and they kill a gazillion infected, but still they keep coming. The story doesn't really go anywehere and what happens is quite predictable: one man and one woman fall in love, the other two fall victim to the infected, and then there are the two lovers left: the end. Nothing really special about this film, I got distracted from watching it a few times, so that's an indication of how interesting it was. I'd skip this.

The Diabolical - a ghost/haunting film at first looks, but something else after watching. It stars Ali Larter, an actress whom I find itneresting. Not like in good loking, because she is not a real hotty or anything, but she has that something special over her which makes me wanna see her act. She is Madison, the single mother of Jacob and Haley. She sees a presence in their house, and when first paranormal experts run away from her house and then her children get sick when trying to leave, she contacts the guy who is both her love interest and Jacob's tutor in science. He starts helping them out and after a while they find out where the presence is coming from. Pretty good story, I liked it even though it was also a bit far fetched. It was not your everyday run of the mill ghost story, it had much more to it, even a touch of science fiction and a nice link to the personal lives of Madison and her kids. The cast is great, the four main caharcaters carry the film nicely together. The ending could have been made a bit more dramatic, imo, right now it still has that feel good thing all over it, but well, it still is a nice film to watch. Recommended, especially if you want to see something quite original.

Anger of the Dead - aka Age of the Dead. Italian made zombie/infected flick, where Alice is at home with ehr daughter when she finds out that she is pregnant. While she wants to tell her husband on the phone that he has to get home in a hurry, he tells her that all hell broke loose in town and she should get into hiding asap. Meanwhile, her daughter opens the door for a zombie, something she shouldn't have done. Alice is escaping and while being chased by the same infected guy who was just in her apartment (man, these zombies were fast), she is saved by Stepehen and together they start to travel in order to find a safe place. They meet up with Peter and his siter, but soon teh sister is being bitten and they have to leave her behind. When they hear a broadcast about a safe island, they try their best to reach the port in time so nthey can get on the boat to the island. All this while there is a second plot going on about a guy looking for an escaped woman, whom he had held in a refuge and did experiments on. The two stories eventually intertwine, but not in a very smooth way imo. OK film, nothing really special. Acting was OK-ish, most actors obviously didn't have English as their mother tongue. Nice to see another Italian zombie film though, might revive the good old days.

Curse of the Witching Tree - a family moves into a new home, a farm which is apprently haunted. The father is not rpoesent, as he is in a coma and it's not sure if he will ever wake up again. This stress takes it's toll on the family, especially the mother, who has to deal with the new home, running the farm and raise two children who have frequent fights with her. When her son is being bullied he gets to hear more of the stories surrounding the farm and he is getting scared. When he gets sick, his sister tries everything to cure him, even getting help from a medium, in whom the mother has zero trust. The medium can see "in the darkness" and what she sees can explain a whole lot of things, but it's also dangerous. Althouh the story is pretty OK and has certain potential, the film didn't really impress me and that is because of the acting. Being scared is an emtion, but you wouldn't guess that by watching this film. The characters look like they are half asleep most of the time, the mother doesn't seem to feel a lot fo emotion for her children, etc. etc. Effects are OK-ish, it really is a shame about the acting, the only one who may have a chance at succeeding is Lucy Clarvis imo. I'd skip this one and go for a better English horror if I were you.

An old-fashioned movienight, that had been a while. Some nice 80s and 70s B-movie crap for me to enjoy Cheerleader Camp - aka Bloody Pom Poms. Starring several Playboy centerfolds, a Penthouse Pet and a porn queen, this movie screams sleeziness, but overall it was not so much so. The story is a cliche slasher story from the 80s with a camp (Camp Hurrah), where groups of girls are competing for a cheerleader title in order to be able to compete in the national contest. The team you follow consists of four cheerleaders, a mascotte and two guys, of whom one is particularly fat. The star of the team (who is not the cutest imo) has trouble with nightmares in which she sees herself in bloody circumstances all the time and this of course doesn't help to concetrate on the contest. Soon after they have arrived, a girl from another team is found dead, presumably by suicide. Of course the leader of the camp doesn't want to close it and call off the contest, so she hides the body. Later, more cheerleaders go missing, and while the nightmare girl is also having relational trouble with her boyfriend (he is one of the guys on their team), their team is falling apart: who is this mysterious killer? Well, if you have seen a slasher before, even only one, you will guess it right from the start as it is so easy. It is being made crystal clear who is respsonsible for the murders, but there are some nice red herrings in this film which make it a tad more interesting. The music was pretty bad, the acting was so so, there was enough nudity to go around, the sex jokes are too dull and the ending was quite nice. Go watch this if you know what you're in for, at least bad moviefans will have a nice time watching this. Caligula and Messalina - one of those peplum films which are revolving around sex and lots of nudity but don't really go anywhere. First: this is not Messalina, Messalina (or Caligula II) and it isn't Caligula: the untold story (or Caligula II, yes, Italians are masters in making "sequels" which aren't really sequels at all). This film was originally made by Bruno Mattei and the remade by some French directors. The film was supposed to be 155 minutes, but a release with that length doesn't exist. The second best thing is the German Laser Paradise DVD and I have that one: it runs for 108 minutes, so it's missing a whopping 27 minutes, but I doubt I would have survived watching that. Historically this movie is a mess, it is set around 50 AD, at the end of the reign of CAligula, but there is also a guy who is tired, because "the destruction of Carthage has worn him out". Well, that was about 200 years before that, so he must have been really, really tired! Also, there is a lot of stock footage, and I mean A LOT. It is also very obvious because the quality of the picture changes noticeably when they switch to stock footage. Lots of the stock footage is actually about Greeks while the movie is about Romans. The plays with gladiators are set in a miniscule theater, with only four rows of people in the audience: hardly the crowd Rome could gather in the Colosseum. Along the entire length of the movie people are having sex, in usual and in unusual ways. Among the unusual sceens there is one where the new emperor Claudius is trying to get it up with Messalina, and they get support by a dwarf who takes her from behind for some extra spice. What was actually new to me were the animal sex scenes: we see donkeys getting it on and horses having a go at each other. A feeble attempt to make it fit the story completes the B-movieness of it all. Near the end my disc was stuttering a little, hopefull that isn't baked in. If you are a hardocre fan of sexploitation or of peplum, go for this one. Otherwise, stick to shorter films with teh same intentions. The Chilling - my German DVD is called Hoffnung auf Eis (Hope on ice), a nice reference to the promotion campaign of Universal Cryogenics, the company which plays the lead role in this film. It lures people who lost a loved one in with fake promises about being reunited later on, when science has found the solution for their resurrection. In the meantime, Universal Cryogenics has a lively commerce going on in human organs. Linda Blair stars as the ignorant assistant who is helping the newest client, Joe Davenport, to deal with his latest loss: his son died in a bank heist, shortly after his wife had passed. One night, a storm passes over the institute and the power is out for a while. Of course, this makes all frozen bodies to wake up and wander around in the building, killing everyone in their path. These zombies are versatile, some can just walk around, others can climb stairs, open doors, etc. In order to save his plans and his capital, the leading doctor tries to make a run for it, while in the meantime, Linda Blair, her drunk husband, Joe Davenport and the security officers are trying to save their lives against the horde of zombies. Never scary, but pretty funny film with not so typical zombies this time. Some nice performances, some cheesy effects and regular unlogical things make this a fun watch for almost everyone. Recommended.

Howl - a guard on a train has the worst night of his life: he gets a notification about him not getting promoted and the newly promoted guy forces him onto an extra nightshift. Trying to start off with as good a mood as he can muster, he soon runs into annoying, dirty and desinterested passengers. Suddenly the train makes an emergency stop in the middle of the woods. The driver gets out to see what's wrong, but he never returns to the train. When the guard, his catering colleague and the passengers are leaving the train to investigate, the guard finds the torn up body of the driver. A long howl echoes through the forest and the passengers run back to the train. Unfortunately, an elderly woman is being bitten right before she can re-enter the wagon. The creature outside is trying it's best to get in and now all passengers, strangers to each other whehn they got on, have to worj together in order to be able to survive the night. Without subtitles this was a bit hard to follow at times, not only because of the British accents used, but also because sometimes long passages are being whispered or mumbled. Notwithstanding thios fact I could thorughly enjoy his film, which had to get going for a bit, but took off at the right moment and then remained interesting until the end, which was not 100% predictable for a change. Acting good, sound sometimes a bit loud in the "noise scenes" and a bit low on the dialogue like mentioned before. Very nice UK horror, recommended.

A Christmas Horror Story - seasonal horror. Not really an anthology, it's more a bunch of storylines loosely connected to each other rather than a series of short tales. Also, the stories alternate between each other. so you get to see some scenes of story one, then some of story two, etc., whereas in an anthology you get to see the entire story and the the econd one, etc. One story is about a trio of teenagers going into their school building to film some footage about a brutal murder which occurred there in the basement the year before, another one is about a couple losing their kid in the forest while searching for a Christmas tree, the third story is about Krampus hunting down a family and the last story is about Santa experiencing gory trouble with his elfs. All stories were OK, the story about the murder was the least interesting, it was also a bit far fetched. The story about the kid was kind of creepy, the Krampus story had some nice surprises but the Santa story took the cake: the plot twist in that one was really well done, I had never seen it coming. Inbetween the scenes a radio DJ (played by William Shatner) is talking about Christmas and the spirit of the season. I had fun watching this, one of the better Christmas horros I know of, recommended for the time of the year.
The Dead Pit - had this filed under /zombies, and indeed there are zombies in this film. However, it's not really a zombiefilm. It's about amental institution where a doctor used to experiment on patients, and then he was killed by a colelague. Now, twenty years later, a woman with amnesia enters the institution. The same day, there is an earthquake which awakens the mad doctor from the past and also several of his patients (although they come later). The mad doctor now oes haunting through the corridors. The woman, who calls herself Jane Doe, is not believed when she says there is a presence around but after a while nobody can deny it any longer and the leading doctor of the institute (he killed the mad doctor years ago) has to take action once again. A very nice, very 80s movie with great music, lots of scenes where Jane wanders around in her underwear (those typical 80s highcut drawers, lol) and hilariously bad effects when the mad doctor glows his red eyes. I had great fun with this film, atmosphere is top notch. Recommended!

Awaken - a woman wakes up on an island in the middle of nowhere, and soon she meets a bunch of people who behave like they are prey to something. Hellbound on finding out how she got there and how to get away, she starts talkin and gathering info. In the meantime, some people of the group are actually hunted by contract soldiers who work for a guy in a mansion which is in close proximity. Escape plans are made up and you get to see the story behind the business (because that's what it is), but like Billie Kope, the main character, you only get to see it through bits and pieces. It's not really surprising (especially since the plot is already in the movie description on imdb), but the way it was done was actually quite cool. The Kope character is played by Natalie Burn, who also wrote, produced, did the stunts and sang the themesong for this movie. Bad stuff about this film: some needless cgi which looks bad and half of the cast really did some very wooden acting. The "twist" is also not very surprising, but I liked how it was played out through to the end. Not a masterpiece, but an OK film which resembles other "hunter" films, but is considerably tamer than most of those.
Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! - part 3 in the already infamous Syfy series. Funny how this one became quite a success, seeing the names which appear on the castlist (altough, most castmembers are quite over the hill - which could be part of the joke imo). It is getting even crazier than in the first two installments, Ziering not only commands a military plane to fly into the sharknado, but he also goes into outer space together with his wife and his dad (played by The Hoff). Some obsolete side storylines, quite some good looking babes (Cassie Scerbo is quite a piece in this one) and many lame jokes fill the time between the shark action. Again, the sharks look butt ugly, but when you get to see a birth through a shark's skin, you will forget all that. This sharksploitation machine is rolling really well, I wonder what's next in part 4 and I'm also quite curious about how cult these films actually are.

We Are Still Here - after having lost their son Bobby in a carcrash, a couple moves in to their new home. They hear noises, and the wife begins to think that Bobby's spirit is with them in the house. The husband doesn't believe it, but when their electrician gets burnt on the arm in the cellar, and two friends of his wife are telling them more about spiritual presences, he starts to think it might be possible. However, the presence is not Bobby and when the men are having a sseance while the women are out, a bad spirit takes possession of the male guest. Now they have to decide what's best for all, and in the meantime the townsfolk are not prepared to let them leave so easily. I read a lot of bad reviews on this, but I thought it wasn't so bad. Yes, the story has been told before, but acting, location and effects were pretty ok. There is enough gore (although you have to wait for the final scenes to get most of it) and I even got scared once. The runtime of 80 minutes also prevents it from getting really boring. If you are looking for something original better pass this one on, but otherwise this is an OK watch.
Zombie Massacre 2: Reich of the Dead - nazi zombie flick made by the same Italians who made Eaters: Rise of the Dead. The B-movieness drips off the screen in this one: few actors, bad sfx, only one location where everything is being filmed, poor soundtrack. If it was made in the 70s, it would be cult rightaway, in this day and age it is just another bad zombieflick: maybe it might get cult status in the future. The story is simplistic: Americans are closing in on nazis, nazis make zombies out of prisoners. These zombies attack everyone. There is a weird and vague ending with a woman and a child, but I didn't understand that. Lots of missed opportunities, I hope these guys are returning more to what they did with Eaters, that film showed more potential.

Death Will Have Your Eyes - bought this one because I like Italian cinema and this looked like an obscure giallo. Well, obscure it is, but it's not a giallo, really. Starting with the two main events in the film, the director then goes back in time and tries to show us how things got out of hand resulting in the two first scenes. This, however, is done in a confusing way, so much so that I lost track of chronology while watching. Maybe it was intended, maybe not, but I got really confused and it reminded me a bit of Pulp Fiction (but not in a good sense, mind you). The story is about a woman moving to Rome to find a job, and by coincidence she ends up with a doctor who loves her and gives her a new lifestyle full of wealth, which she isn't used to. Although she has a good life now, she starts an affair with another man because she doesn't really love the doctor. One night, a guy asaaults her in her own home, as he is trying to blackmail her because of a murder. Now she has to find a way out of her troubles. Picture quality was bad on this DVD (mya release), score was good (Stelvio Cipriani), but overall I would forget about this "giallo": mediocre at best.
Holocaust 2: The Memories, Delirium & Vengeance - not really a sequel, but Italians don't seem to mind, they just stick the nr 2 to their titles in order to cash in on the success of some other film. In this one, not so much nazi torture, not so many scenes in the deathcamps, but more a hunt for still living nazis around the world by a secret Jewish group. They use everything to get to their targets, even murdering relatives to flish the old nazis out. There are some weird and vague flashbacks of the camps, in which we get to see some lesbian action, which is then continued thirty years later...?? This DVD was a transfer off a Dutch VHS, so it had hardcoded Dutch subs (no prob for me) and was fullscreen. This is however the most incut version of this film floating around. There is enough nudity, but nothing else which could shock censorship boards, imo. If you are looking for a good nazisploitation, pick another one. If you want to see something nazi related which you have never seen before, pick this one.
Hell's Ground - Pakistani horrorfilm, the backside of the cover says it's an ode to George A. Romero, so I expected loads of slow walkign zombies, but I didn't see so many zombies in the first place. Also, this one is a double package with Dracula in Pakistan, a 1967 film, so I was assuming this one was old as well. Wrong again. So, what was this film like? The characters speak a mix of English and Urdu, the story is pretty cliche (group of teens getting lost in the middle of nowhere without gas for their vehicle), then some zomboies appear and there is a TCM-like family around. Gore is OK, enough kills to go around, but this film is hard to recommend other than a curiosity from a lesser known part of Asia considering horrorfilms.

The motherboard of my PC died. I dropped it and switched to a new notebook now to be more flexible.
Wind Chill (2007): You could call this an x-mas horror movie. A girl (the character actually has no name in the movie!) joins a guy (also no name!) to drive home for the holidays. They take a detour and their cars breaks down. They are not only facing freezing deaths but also some ghosts of accidents that happened on the small road before. The movie starts out ok, but the story of the ghosts just isn't explained well and it's not scary at all. It was so promising and could have been done way better. A pretty forgettable movie and a chance missed. No recommendation here.

Of Unknown Origin - I had a lot of doubts about this film. I have held it in my hands in DVD shops several times and never bought it then, because I thought it would be more of aa thriller than a horror. Recently I had the chance to pick it up for a few Euros, so I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. This is a really cool movie, however, it is indeed not so much of a horrorfilm. Peter Weller plays a successful broker guy whose family goes on a holiday for a while. In the meantime, he gets a big assignment with the possibility of a promotion on the job. While he is gearing up for this job, he gets to meet a huge rat in his house. This creature is at fist just annoying him, but slowly and steadily, the rat is taking overall his thoughts. His sleep and his work are both suffering, and that plus the rat is driving him mad. Much of the story reminded me of Going Down, with some obvious differences of course. The message is also quite OK with it's anti-materialistic statement, the acting is great (Weller is top nocth and he carries the film) but the effects of the rat are a bit stupid and cheap looking. Don't watch this if you want a creature feature horrorfilm, but do it if you like good acting and watching someone going slightly mad. Recommended.

Spirit Box - Fear Itself episode 11. The story evolves around Shelby and Becca, two teenage girls in highschool, of which Becca is about to emigrate to Taiwan, when they decide on Halloween to do a seance. In this seance they find out that a former classmate didn't commit suicide, but was actually murdered. Now they set out to find out who the killer was and in the meantime they have to deal with cheerleader stuff and the PE teacher who supposedly has an eye on Shelby. There is a nice twist to it, which can be guessed but I didn't. Acting is good, Shelby is played by Anna Kendrick in one of her first roles (the boobs on her are worth checking out btw ), atmosphere is OK overall and sounds are used in a useful way. Nice episode, not one of the best, but definitely better than some others.
