Just got the album.

Stopped listening to it after track 5 orso. Find the voice of Bruce tiresome, even painful to listen to.
Maby cause I'm tired, but can listen to NotB any time of the day.

Think my conclusion is dissapointed.

Honestly, I think this album is great! Nice feelings, heavy guitars and melodic vocals. It's very Iron Maiden. I think you wanted some death metal vocals or something like that...

That would not be you, that would be my client.
It spreads parts that need spreading most.
But be sure it's complete, ripped it myself ;)

Umn no not death metal, just plain ol' Iron Maiden.
If you put (for example) Number of the Beast and this album next to each other, you'll hear the difference in the vocals.
Maby it's cause Bruce cut his hair a while back, but he sounds different. The rest of the music sounds like Maiden except Bruce himself.
Almost like it's an impersonator.

Hmmm I think I'll have to hear it by myself :)

Understood, I thought that it might be the client, but just in case i went ahead and asked :)

BTW.. as you can see, lots of ppl are dling it (it's my fault, I announced the link in another site) it's lovely for those elinks with very little sources :)

I have to say, at first, I was wondering what to expect. I prefer the whole of Brave New World over Dance of Death, but Dance of Death has better individual tracks, like Dance of the Dead and Paschendale, and i downloaded this yesterday (the lossless was too slow, there's well spread mp3 versions that come down fast and i knew i was going to buy and rip it, so it saved me the effort).

So first listening, I thought the opening was okay, and it was really a very strong album as it progressed. I listened to it again and I really enjoyed it, and I like Different World too. Dance of Death started poorly if you ask me, i really don't like that first track, its my least favourite on that album, but different world is a lot strong. Not as strong as Wickerman, but it fits this album well. My official copy arrived in the post today (with the dvd), and i have to say I really love it. Listening to it now. Its a very strong album, very powerful tracks. Heavy but not just because they can, great singing as always, and most of all they are really melodic tracks, which is why i love Maiden in the first place.

When the preview tracks were released I didn't know what to think, but listening to the album... tis just awesome.

Now I understand people always love 80s maiden, I do, but I really do rate their reforming with bruce. i think the quality of the songs is extremely high but much more melodic, i think the actual musical quality of their tracks is now... well its more mature. I think Iron Maiden as they are now is just as strong as they've ever been, they've evolved but they've never sold out *cough*Metallica*cough*.

I'm not a heavy for the sake of being loud kind of guy, i might understand why people who are into that stuff might not like Maiden, but I think this is a really excellent album, through and through.

Bruce's voice is still very strong, best Heavy Metal singer, but i think death metal style singing is pathetic for the most part. I'd rather have a singer than a noise maker, screaming just ruins tracks... it aint music.

btw. Number of the Beast isn't as good as Seventh Son of a Seventh Son imo. Ouch... i know, but its close :) Hallowed Be Thy Name is my favourite Iron Maiden song, but i like Sign of the Cross, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Wickerman, Dance of Death, Phantom of the Opera... hell i like nearly every song. Except Die with your boots on... well most of that song anyway

I finished the download

Thnx Vae Victis :)

I also pre ordered it so its about to arrive (with the dvd, of course)

I agree with spud, the album is powerful

Right now (first listenings) my favorite track is For the grater good of god, the track is, IMHO one of the most powerful (music and lyrics) since a long time ago (perhaps aside or a bit lower than Hallowed, Fear and Sign)

Another great song (love at first hearing) is Lord of Light

Also Brighter than a thousand... is GREAT.

I think that THIS should be the metal album of the year.

Up the Irons!!!!!

Amazing album, Bruce Dickinson is the best metal vocal and I agree with Spud still very strong. Very heavy guitars and fast-harmonic bass guitar! Up the Iron, the best band ever!
