Best I've seen :

* Dark water (Honogurai mizu no soko kara)
really good Ringu-like movie. Will probably be blasted away by
the Hollywood remake which comes end of 2004.

* and nothing.... here goes the same : a lot of dl but watching
them.....no way (will do in time).

And the worst :

* Holy Terror

Some 55 min. horror flick about a nun who comes back to live after being strangled. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0290657/

Some nice effects in it though : a 3 minute close up of the boob-section of a girl who's probably a Playboy-girl wannabee.

Oh,it's about horror you say ?
ehm....then it sucks

And (some longer ago then 2 weeks) : :matrix: Van Shitting.

Oops,that should be Van Helsing.

They just don't come any worse than that (even the Toxic Avenger-movies are more spectacular than this shit-for-brains-typecasted-dumb-movie).

So far my review :bat:

Greetz,

K538

Lloyd Kaufman would be pretty pissed to see his masterpiece put in the same sentence as a bottom of the barrel film like Indiana Van Helsing.

??? It's not as good as Virgin Suicides, agreed, but still a pretty solid movie IMO.

/me pours a glass of water over frank
well that's foiled one and a half hours of crud

signs could have been great, bits of it pieced together would have been great, some of it is really cool I thought and atmospheric, and the alien hand under the door... cool.... but it was so terrible in 90% of the film I just thought it was crap. Showing the aliens was a huge, huge, huge mistake.

Spider-man 2 i liked better than the first.

Lost in Translation is a beautiful and innocent film, I really enjoyed it from start to finish, Francis Ford Coppla's daughter has a great career ahead of her imo. I loved this film, very human.
28 days later was okay, as far as modern horror goes I thought it was quite enjoyable.

Toxic Avenger is cheesy and crappy, but its a good film because that's all it needs to be to work. I thought it was great :)

no its not at all, its very depressing in parts and its just a good, nice little flick. About isolation and the need to be around other people, pretty funny too, all the tiny Japanese men with the huge Bill Murray

Max obviously hasn't seen it for that comment, or it could just be his terrible taste coming through again

It's actually one of the better films out in recent years, to say its the worst, bear in mind it is a drama and the rest of the thread is mainly about horror, its damn good i thought.

the problem with Lost in Translation is that its high on art and low on entertainment. it was so deep you drowned in it. it had it moments, but to keep you eyes on that movie for 2 hours, you have to be utterly stoned(my case). maybe not the worst movie, but most surely the most hyped and overrated movie of the last 3 years.

Best:

Once upon a time in the West - Cinematic Heaven

Worst:

Code 46!!!! URK!!!!
All about my mother - URK!!!!!!

Now whoever categorized these two films as ANYTHING other than with a huge neon red sticker saying 'CHICK FLICK!!!!!' should be forzed to watch 'Independence Day' untill they'd scream for mercy!
