I am seeing this Wednesday, so I am fighting the urge to watch the pirates. This is one film I wanna savour. 8)

do you think the apparant success of this movie has made Alien Vs. Predator all the more likely?

Studios get into a frenzy over these kind of things, when LOTR came out every single company bought up as many 'fantasy works' rights as possible. I got a strong feeling fox will see alien vs predator as an extension of the success of Freddy vs Jason and maybe step up production a bit more than their current script writing, many director strategy

You think studios will follow that logic and move along with more cross over projects?

for real? Hooray, at last. I bet Freddy vs Jason had something to do with it, seen as thoughn it's had it's fair share of would-be directors and had been a shaky rumour for a long time.

@wargand, starts shooting in mordor...erm november :D

I actually liked those two films, they were average/decent enough films, but your right this next film should be done right, given the relative coolness of the series. IMO they need to rehire Giger to cast away the terrible aftertaste of alien ressurection. :)

Oh he also mortal kombat, that was much worse

Any other director would put their name as Alan Smithee on Mortal Kombat, not good old Paul

Definetely. :(

Nightmare on Elm Street Prequel: The Sun Times recently talked with 'Freddy' himself Robert Englund who spoke up on the potential projects post FvJ, most likely a prequel script he likes - "It takes a look at the crimes that caused the townspeople to burn Freddy alive in the first place. It intrigues me because I'm fascinated by the lives and motivations of serial killers. Plus, I'd get to do the Freddy movie without the makeup". Ken Kirzinger (aka. Jason) also talked about future horror teamups he'd like to see - "We're already going to get 'Alien' vs. 'Predator' and I know there are a lot of people out there who are wondering what would happen if Leatherface [from 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'] met Michael Myers ['Halloween']" - sigh. Thanks to 'Dust Bunny'.

Freddy vs. Jason 2: Well one rumour has been shot down before it even began. Last week the first fanboy talk sprung up about "Evil Dead" hero Ash appearing in a potential sequel - now that talk has just been scrapped (and in style) by the man himself. 'Richter' has the scoop: "I recently had an e-mail talk with Mr. Bruce Campbell about rumors flying around revolving his possible involvment in a sequal to Freddy v Jason, which is being called Freddy v Jason v Evil Dead. This rumor is not true, but his exact words were,"If you believe that, I've got some ocean front property outside of Phoenix you might be interested in...".

8-22-03
Bruce Campbell's Next: Radio station WRKR talked with Bruce Campbell yesterday and was asked right up front about rumors of his possible involvement in the "Freddy vs. Jason" sequels. 'Jeremiah' was listening and gives us a report: "He says that right now it's all internet mumbo-jumbo, and there's no sort of truth to any of to the rumors as of yet. He says the cool thing is that with the amount of money that F vs J made this weekend, they're like heroes again. The ultimate thing to do would bring back Ash and kind of finish off the three series. "I'm sure I can outrun hockey-mask man. But Freddy's got the quips, so I'd have to have Sam Raimi write all my lines for me. Cuz, you know, you have to take these guys down before you take them out". Other than that, he touched briefly on his involvement in "Kalamazoo?", and about the fact that he thinks cameos are the best roles. "You can come on screen, say 'Here I am!', and walk off!" Bruce, is of course, a Michigan native, so he has personal interest in the movie".

Freddy Vs. Lara Croft

Huh, I wonder who always makes these kinda rumours.. :P

arrggh, i liked event horizon, and didnt think resident evil was really that bad,but not one of my favorites.

i wish someone would make movies of the books '....in hell' series, where all the big historical figures are in hell. onlly read 1 of them buncha years ago, it was hp lovecraft and robert e howard hanging out with gilgamesh and achilese(i think).

i read on creature-corner the other day that Peter Jackson wrote a Freddy VS. Jason script. Everyone at New Line thought it was too fucked up to make though. It would be interesting to get a hold of that script somehow.

As far as the movie... i thought it was awesome. Could have been better but it lived up to my expectations.
