Speaking of cartoons.....Watched the Mr. Hankey Xmas special today....A yulelog favorite so to speak. As far as PIXAR goes.....Their animation is top notch...but sometimes(as with Cars) the storyline is lacking or could have been vastly improved scriptwise IMO...Spuds right though...way better then anything Disney has put out recently....btw......am I the only one that would like to see Robin Williams sodomized with a penguin if he dares voice another animated movie?

Yeah your right ...I must be thinking of Dreamworks then...no small wonder why it isn't smart for me to stray from the pinku and the gore...It's strange...I own all these movies but certain ones I don't equate to Disney for some reason.....It's all pap for my 4 year old anyway.....If I watch animation it's usually Family Guy or Metalocalypse...yeah real high tech stuff I know.....but it pleases me...and that is all that matters.

OK, back on topic ( )
20 Years After - don't watch it, it's a waste of time. I remember asking myself "What am I watching? It can't be a movie." Totally forgettable, the story could have been told in like 5 mins, but this director decided he needed 96 minutes
Leprechaun 4 - take Starship Troopers, mix the Leprechaun into it and you get this film. Funny at times, very unbelievable (even or a horror/scifi flick) and some nice gore. Still, it took too long to make an end to this movie.
Hell's Ground - Pakistan gore movie, the first. Nice mixture of some western 80s classics, nice killer in burqa. Annoying thing was the actors speak Pakistan language (what is it called?) and Englsih mixed up, so sometimes you don't get subs and you missed the first few words/lines in Paki English. I still recommend this, just not for the middle of the night.
The Midnight Meat Train - someone here posted about the ending being predictable, well, I started to think about the possible endings around 45 mins into the movie, but by then it wasn't predictable yet. It only became predictable like 10 mins before the ending, which is not very good, but not a spoiler either. Enjoyable movie, a shame about all those blocks in the Manik rip.
Nightmare at Noon - weird movie, not really horror, more scifi if you ask me. Many things which happen after halftime of this movie are totally strange. For example: why does the Albino shoot his own men? Where did those helicopters came from (OK, one might be sent by this mullet guy on the phone calling the army, but the other one?)? I thought this would be good fun and I was a bit disappointed. Nice to see Wings Hauser acting obnoxious again, though.
Guinea Pig 6: Devil Woman Doctor - not shocking, but funny and gory like GP3. Weird diseases (exploding head disease, heart burst disease, etc) are shown by Devil Woman Doctor. Sometimes she "heals" patients in a very painful way. I'm sure most Japanese people dig this short film. I did too.

13 Hours in a Warehouse - stiry sounded cool and I must say, this movie is quite OK. Five criminals have to wait one night in a warehouse in order to close a deal. Meanwhile, they chat some about Robin Williams (in a way which made me think of the beginning dialogue about Madonna in Reservoir Dogs). Strange things happen in the warehouse and it turns out it's not gonna be an easy 13 hours. Recommended.
Mark of the Astro Zombies - Ted V Mikels to the rescue! This guy always makes me laugh with his films and this one is no exception. With truely ridiculous aliens spawning astro zombies with machetes who kill everyone in the streets, mankind is on the verge of a huge disaster. Luckily, there are even more ridiculous looking aliens who come to aid earth in its darkest hour. If you like bad movies, check this one out, it is hilarious. Dialogue between scientists: "For remote viewing, we create a graphic chart from which we calculate longitude and latitude" "Wow, that's fascinating!"
Automatons - thanks to RV and chupa I went seeing this. I think the director wants to make an arty film, or he/she was trying to make an instant cult classic or something of that kind, otherwise I can't explain why this movie was made the way it is made. Only watch this very late at night, or when you are very tired, then this is the perfet movie, as its pace is sllloooooooowww as hell. I think this movie was about robot wars, but I couldn't really get a grip on the storyline. Which robots were good and which were evil in the field was hard to distinguish. I didn't laugh as frequently as while watching "Mark of..." but I still had some bad taste fun.

pffft, thats your excuse for everything. "Meh, that can not be right an aussie said it" You know i think your bias to australians. Its ugly spud... your countyisum is ugly
How about the fuck word then?
Brainstorm Very good old school scifi about scientist that develop technolagy to record experiences and play it back on another persons mind. All is going well untill the maverk genious behind the project has a heart attack and her last moments records her death. This death tape causes all sorts of freaky trouble.
Interestign thign abotu thsi film is that not a huge ammount happens. It is a very realistic story about some crazy bollocks. Most of teh film focuses on how scientist can not keep control of their research and how it gets corrupted by the practical uses. Some pretty interesting theams. Also of note is the awesome optical visual effects.. (anyone remeber altered states or 2001?) These are film techniques that have completly disapeared, most likly never to be used again, so if your interested in movie history thsi is a great example of one of the lost techniques due to the CG revolution.

Black Demons - Umberto Lenzi made this, so gore was to be expected. The demons themselves were only lightly made up, but the make up they did wear, was good and gory. The story was OK, although somewhat boring at times. Still, it was easy to sit through. What I really didn't understand is the fact that near the end someone gets murdered (off screen, the characters just talk about it) who is the son of the person owning the house where it all happens. He gets killed because of what his father did during the times of slavery. So... slavery was abandoned in Brazil around 1935???
Savage Streets - gang movie from the 80s, yay! All the typical figures are there, the only exception is that one of the gangs consists completely of girls. The story plays out nice, with a deaf and not-so-tough cousin, a girl who is about to get married and a guy in the boy gang who still attends school and has his doubts about being in the gang. Cliches all, but I like 'em.
Blood Diner - whoa! What was this? This movie almost blew me away! It started with a warning about the graphic violence and that the producers "do not condone, nor do they want to inspire, any of the human butchery or violence portrayed in this film." Great! The story is about a vegetarian restaurant run by two brothers, who want to resurrect an ancient goddess. For this they need loads of human ingredients, named by their father who was shot by the police and now is only a jar with brains and eyeballs. All the remains they don't need, are being processed into their "vegetarian" food. On a certain evening, they have to perform the ritul to make the goddess reappear. Will they succeed? Very highly recommended!

yeah but I wouldn't call pixar, disney; Disney doesn't do anything beyond distribution despite its new found ownership. Pixar remains autonomous from disney. Cars ironically marked the buy out in terms of the new brand on the credits, but note how pixar is plastered everywhere, and all direction and creative process remains the responsibility of pixar as an autonomous 'company' within disney. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixar
Some interesting stuff there, mainly shining a light on Disney as a major hinderance to Pixar.
IMO, that describes a glorified distributor role for disney

Brutal Massacre, a comedy - very differing reviews on this, so I was curious: would I like this one, like so many others; or think it's dull, like so many others? It starred many people from famouys horrormovies, but I didn't recognize 'em all. It wasn't a horrormovie, it is about making horrormovies. So if you're in for lots of gore and blood etc, skip this, because it has next to none of that. Many, many jokes and about 80% of them fall flat, the others are funny. The ending sequence, with the famous "what happens to this guy after the movie" was quite funny. It was OK, a bit so-so. If you have seevral movies to choose from, don't choose this one, save for when you don't have anything else to watch.

King Kong Escapes - it has been a while since I watched an old skool Japan monster flick, and this brought back many memories. I still love the very fake backgrounds, the toy tanks and the silly image cutting to make things appear at the same time while they are not. In short: I enjoyed this thoroughly. If you're looking for a serious or scary movie however, skip this one.

Hellraiser VI: Hellseeker (2002): Forgettable sequel of Hellraiser in the style of Carnival Of Souls. I considers this a Carnival Of Souls knock off with a bit of Pinhead and some Cenobites in it. It's a collection of strange scenes with quite wimpy "scary" scenes. Only recommended if you are a huge fan of Hellraiser.

Twins of Evil - seventies Hammer horror, I just love it! They can make women look sexy with their clothes on, they can make suspense with only music, this film is another great example of what Hammer can do. The movie is about witchhunting and vampirism. Recommended!
Santa Claws - it took almost an hour to find out what this movie had to do with Xmas, and then a psychotic fan of a pornstar dresses up as Santa and starts killing people. That's it. Very forgettable movie, with loads of tits, so if you're not expecting a good story and want to see boobies, this is the one for you.

Toy Soldiers - someone posted this looked like one of the Bullets, Bombs and Babes movies. Well: it's not. It does have the guns adn explosions, but it's missing out on the sex. There's few boobies, but that's not bad at all: it just doesn't fit so much in this movie. I kinda liked this, although it had a teenage adventure feeling all over it. The very, very, very highly unlikely way in which a group of youngsters are gonna rescue their friends from a group of hardened rebels in Central America (the name of the country never gets mentioned) is too much, actually. Still I thought this was quite enjoyable.
Demonsamongus - first time crew makes Australian arty farty movie. Some nice looking chicks (one looks a lot like Keira Knightley) are fighting demons in their village. How they ever became demons is never explained in this movie. The most notorious thing about this flick is its cinematography. It is being very arty thorughout the entire movie. One could view this as experimental/avantagrde/etc, but also as disturbing/annoying/irritating/etc. An example: staccato editing, with frames missing, making the transfers shocky. With all this arty stuff stripped, I think the movie would last about 25 mins max.

No, it's this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088292/ it has been posted in the non-horror section (page 2 now). It stars a young Tim Robbins and Tracy Scoggins (of later Demonic Toys-fame).

Outpost - another mixture of war and horror and this one left me with a better feeling than the others I have seen before (Horrors of War, R-Point, The Bunker - all of which I thought were pretty bad). Maybe it's due to the fact the war-aspect in this one was very horror-ish. I won't give away too much, but it is a good film, I liked it. Recommended.
Sars Wars - after having changed the subs file for this one (I had a subs file which only contained subs for the first 8 minutes, so check yours if you're gonna watch this), I sat down and really, really enjoyed this Thai madness. If you like bad movies, this will be a treat, if you're into serious stuff, skip it. It is humorous and hilarious. I won't forget this one among the thousands of flicks I have seen. Recommended.

Hell Ride - from imdb: This movie tries sooo hard to be cool it's ridiculous. Everything, from the look of the film, the cinematography, the editing, the dialogue and the acting, is geared in super cool mode from the get go. Just to make sure that no one misses how cool this film is, there's a soundtrack of really cool rock n roll tunes and a twangy western-surf-tex mex guitar playing constantly throughout the film. As a final reminder of how frickin cool this movie is, all the actors have been instructed to speak in a hoarse voice, because, as we all know, that's badass. And: It's basically seems to be about a gang of pensioners who ride round on motorcycles shooting at each other and exchanging the most hilariously bad dialogue you can imagine. One scene inexplicably has two characters smashing bottles over each others heads, then showing each other 'get out of jail free' cards that they've made! Also check out Vinnie Jones' accent, where the hell is he meant to be from?!? Oh and there's a load of naked girls in it too, who for some unfathomable reason seem to want nothing more than to have none stop sex with these leathery skinned b*stards! The guy who wrote and directed it - a Pee Wee Herman lookalike with a Greeshan 2000'd beard and an orange sunbed tan - has for some reason cast himself in the lead role, maybe this is part of the joke, I don't know.
I enjoyed this crapola festival.
Dance of the Dead - it takes a while before any zombies appear, but the movie was enjoyable throughout, so it wasn't annoying until the zombies came. I liked this one, it had a classic 80s feeling to it, although some of the zombies moved very quickly. Nice gore, nice girls. Recommended.
