Well this movie opens today in the US. I'm probably gonna go see it before work tonite. I wanna know what you guys think, I've seen ads out the wahzoo, but no mention of it here at all. Some kind of boycott I missed? :lol: Kidding, but seriously I know ya'll here are as jaded, if not more so, than I am. I enjoyed Cabin Fever (...put a cock in it, you!) and Q.T. rarely lets me down, seems like a good set-up/plot, too.
Hostel (2005)

Also, does it have anything to do with Hostel (2003)?

The reviews sound good. Gore, torture, dark setting. Thoughts?

I just HAVE to see this movie... there's a CAM out allready but I can?t bring myself to see this whith low quality, guess I?ll wait for the Dvdrip or that it comes out in the theaters. As I live in Portugal I'm betting the rip will come first... :wacky:

I enjoyed it. Thought it was a fun flick even if it did have some crap Hollywood film qualities. It does have a lot of intentional humor in it, but if you are in the right mood you won't find it goes too far. I enjoyed one cameo in particular, :)

I'm going to the Spa now...

It was decent. Violence and T&A. Not a winner in DD's eyes, but the casual movie goers were repulsed, which was more entertaining.

I'll rent Hostel tonight.
I've heard different responses to the film. My boss told me it sucks big time. He calls the film boring and says it's not shocking at all. A girl friend of mine actually walked out of the movie theater when she went to see it. With these two contradictory responses I can only watch it and make up my own mind.

I'll be honest. I expect a pretty grim film a la Last House on the Left or the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

I thought Hostel was nothing above average.

Especially not for a movie that cost $4.5 million to make, which is a lot compared to a lot of movies on here that were a lot better.

Yeah yeah. Viewing human beings as meat...viewing them as outlets for sadistic fun, only this time for profit.

How is that new? It was a ripoff of Blood-Sucking Freaks in a lot of ways, except it had victims of both genders.

And as for outright sadism, "Last House on the Left" did it a lot better.

So...I give it a 4 out of 10.
