Hi, just want to explore the world of Anime and horror so can one recommend some great Anime movies ?

Blood+ is ok(sequel to the Blood movie
Jigoku Shoujo is very good(sell your soul to take revenge on someone-stuff)
Ayakashi Classic Japanese Horror is excellent
Le Portrait De Petite Cossette is very good too(about a spirit/demon trapped in an old wine glass)

More science fiction but it does have horror elements: Akira. Watch it anyway, it's a classic.
For the rest you could go with Wicked City, Ninja Scroll, 3x3 eyes...
Urotsukidoji if you want to see tentacle alien monsters rape teenage girls. :twisted:
There is currently a series of Blood - The Last Vampire running which is called Blood+.
More series are Elfen Lied, Boogiepop Phantom (weird thoug), Gantz, Hellsing.

More series than movies. I haven't seen many horror anime myself so i'll check this thread for recommendations too.

BTW: For many, many anime ed2k links check http://www.anidb.net. You must first register before you can see the links. The links are on the lower part of the anime pages where the episodes are listed.

Ninja Scroll is definitely a winner. Can't go wrong with it.. I also recommend (if you have time for a series) Monster since it's great and very horror/mystery oriented...Hellsing series is also ok but a new awesome OVA that follows the manga very closely is coming out soon so you should check that out.

I would have to rate Hellsing as one of the best anime series I have seen. Alucard is one of the coolest characters ever, and even the priest is damn cool.

Not so sure about the new OVA coming out though, based on some comments on IMDB. Although I guess I would be a fool to listen to comments by people on IMDB.

I have managed to find a trailer for the new OVA Hellsing series as well. It does'nt seem quite as dark as the first one but pretty good none the less.

Okay I've downloaded the first episode of Hellsing OVA and I think it's very good. One ep lasts 50 minutes. Too bad nothing new from the manga is covered in the first ep so have to wait.

Anyway - download now!

An absolute must if you like vampire stories. An absolute must if you like anime. Not too much of a must if you prefer pure horror, but another abolute must if you like fantasy also.
