Hi guys. Great to see you're still alive

Play.com has this really cool horrorsale on the occasion of the 6/6/06. Go see it h ere. I plan on buying quite a lot, but I don't have too much time, so based on IMDB reviews of all the films (and the knowledge I already had from this board). What do you think? Have I forgotten something essential? Am I planning to buy something really shitty? All comments are welcome.

Saw
Dog Soldiers
An American Werewolf In London
Creep
The Entity
Dracula AD 1972
Stir of Echoes
The Hole
The Cell
Demon Seed
Cabin Fever
Picnic at Hanging Rock
Dead End
Ju-On: The Grudge
The Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue
Hellraiser
Nightmare City
Darkness
Contamination
The King Is Alive

I left out Evil Dead, Nightmare on elm street and Friday the 13. series on purpose.

Saw... meh, probably keep it if you got money to burn, there's better movies you can get for £6.99. Fight Club?
http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/169121/F ... oduct.html
or a better 2 disc for £7.99?
http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/903901/F ... oduct.html
The Hole... bad, skip it
The Cell... erm, J'Lo?

I personally wouldn't buy those, certainly not the last two. The Hole is such a boring, boring film. 6.4 is a complete travesty. 3 or a 4 at most. I think i gave it a 2  I think your having a "horror" film rated by a mass audience, which is never smart. Demographics show women rated it higher. Maybe its because I ain't a chick? :wacky:

Missing:
Ravenous -> Great film. Vastly underrated imo. No one ever hears about it but there's no sound reason for that, it just got swallowed up for some reason.
Ginger Snaps films -> first is best
Child's Play -> Don't fuck with the chuck. Why is this not on your list? :o
Carrie -> a good Stephen King. Some people find it a little dry, i thought it was a great Brian De Palma movie.

Modern Junk:
Dawn of the Dead Director's -> your buying a lot worse being the motivation.
From hell -> well my little brother liked it, i didn't think much of it at all, again your buying worse (the hole/the cell/etc.)

Thanks for the heads up on this Jensus.

I'm going to get Picnic at Hanging Rock (I've always loved that movie) and Blood on Satans Claw.

Agree with spud on Ravenous - great flick.

Thanks for sharing your oppinion spot. Apparently I left out some that I already have in my collection. Reading for exams can be sooo stressy, you know. I already have Carrie and Ravenous. Ravenous is pretty cool, but it's supposed to be a horrorcomedy and I didn't really get the comedy part.

I never liked the Child's Play movies, they seem too silly in some way.
