Looks like this Zombie game is uncut in the uk, unlike japan (states version too?)

Dead Rising Escapes Censorship In Britain

Quote:
Great Britainites will now enjoy commanding the full wrath of the game's lead character Frank West in disposing of freakish zombie hordes in any way they see fit.

While the acclaimed new Xbox 360 zombie-action game was recently banned in Germany, and altered in Japan to prevent players from killing off innocent humans, the British Board of Film Classification has passed the game in it's original zombie-blood infused form. It is scheduled for release in the region on September 8th.

Australia won't see a release until September 15, while Japan has to wait even longer with a date set for September 28.

One of the only games that looked fun on the xbox360 to me, and it has zombies in it. PCA is probably playing it now, any good?

Great :)

Although I've only played the demo so far (it's region locked to NTSC only :( )

It's really good fun thouh, as well as just killing (re-killing?) zombies you can take photos which are scored on Horror, Drama, Romance(??) and Comedy content.

So you can do things such as coat the mall floor in cooking oil, then throw a limb into the puddle to attract zombies, then take photos of them slipping about all over the place, in order to raise the comedy score

It's a real sandbox game, and encourages exploration and experimentation.

Can't wait for the UK release ;)

(BTW the US version is also uncensored)

really? I don't know i always frown on the "openness" claim, usually you can do a lot of prescripted events but they get tiresome real quick.

Sounds cool though.
Wish they'd make a pc verison :matrix:

Me too, the only thing I can think of is self cencorship by the games company, like what usually happens over here in the UK, the BBFC pass works UNCUT, because they are pre-cut before the BBFC see them

Japan's REALLY cracked down recently on games. Blame GTA (again) as it's the one that seems to have caused it

speaking of which, i hear rockstar released a trailer for Bully? Don't those guys ever give it a rest.

I mean their game engines are great and all (British you see  ), but i dunno. I hope rockstar have the common sense to release a SDK for modders with their next GTA too. The engine is too unapproachable to outsiders :(

And speaking of GTA, you see pictures of Just Cause? That looks like a riot! Its like a mass-mass scale GTA, with parachuting and grabbling-hooking passing planes. Just comical that you go in as the cia and topple governments
