Post subject:  Most Disturbing films you've seen

Well, Just thought I'd open up a conversation, and maybe get some input on some (hopefully ) good films. Any movie thats made your skin crawl, gave you goosebumps, made you turn on the lights, or made your stomach upset upon first viewing. I'll list a few films I've found disturbing myself, and have actually bought the DVD's for repeated viewings.

Cannibal Holocaust
Cannibal Ferox
Anthropophagous
The Beyond
(and funny enough) The Grudge

These movies don't have to be gory to be disturbing....maybe just catch you at the right moment, or you were young (as when I saw Last House On The Left, Alien & The Thing). The point is, that they had a lasting effect on you.....and you still feel nostalgia when you watch them now. Or that they even give you the same feelings on repeated viewings as they did on the first.

One film that is disturbing to me, Nekromantic, I haven't been able to find over here in the States on DVD. Hopefully soon. Anyway, your thoughts and films are appreciated. Take care, Bill. :beerchug:

puke doesn't disturb me in a movie.....I just think its stupid, honestly.I downloaded slaughtered vomit dolls, and skipped thru most of it before dumping it off my HD. Another one that disturbed me that I'm trying to get on DVD is Maniac. Very gritty, realistic, and good portrayal of a serial killer.

All Disney films traumatise me, they should all be banned.

That amount of cuteness should be illegal.

Threads, on so many levels...
Primarily as a vision of the effect of a Neuclear strike on the UK, but almost just as much, a vision of Sheffield in the 80s...

I recall me having trouble watching everything from Cannibal Holocaust, because I knew the animal scenes were real. So that one can go on my list for sure.

With friends I tried several times to watch Guinea Pig 1, but they all started to complain after ten minutes, so I never finished it yet. I did watch 3 and 4, and although they're pretty gory (esp 4), I expect nrs 1 and 2 to be more disturbing.

Some films that did actually scare me, even if it was only a little bit:

- The Woman In Black
- Ring 0

well, I was expecting a LOT more people to check in with short lists of their own like I did. A few notes.....I just finished downloading The Woman In Black & will check it out tomorrow. Watership Down is not a Disney film. It was put out by Warner Brothers. Disturbing to watch when I was a kid, I now have the DVD for nostalgia reasons. And I don't know how bad movies got started. So step up with a list of films that disturbed and/or frightened you. Take care, Bill. :beerchug:

LoL you should rip & release Watership Down, thats deffo a horror whether IMDB says so or not.
Guinea pig 1 is basically just cutting up a drugged up woman whilst shes still alive, pretty grim but not too bad.
Hellraiser 1 was shocking on the first watch, assuming I got the right one, the hooks into the flesh & stretching it.
Tetsuo 1 - Iron Man was intense & completely twisted, had to stop that half way through to get some air lol
Coffin Joe Hallucinations of A deranged mind again was so damn wierd that I put the disk away & havent watch any other CJs on it yet & that was 18 months ago :o
