Red Victoria - liked the idea, the writer character is played by a decent actor and Victoria looks lucious. I seemed to remember her from something, but when I looked it up it turned out I couldn't know her from what she had been doing before. After a while this movie gets a little predictable, gbut then it's only a small effort to finish it anyway. Check it out.

Gangs of the Dead - heh, I like tough guys who need to fight hordes of zombies, so this was a good one. Latinos, negroes and cops all have to work together in this film, which is kind of hilarious, but I'm sure it's also leaning on huge stereotypes. Some very rude actions make this film not slide down the cheesy slope and keep the viewer interested. Pretty good. Not the best, but there are far worse efforts with zombies.

Netherbeast Incorporated - I had read good stuff about this one, and I guess that's why I was a bit disapointed. It wasn't so witty as I had expected, in fact, I thought it was kind of dull sometimes. I liked the whole theory behind it, how vampires are the mythological version of the netherbeasts who need to survive by doing vampiric-like stuff. But, most of the characters I didn't like (I actually only liked 1 and he dies very soon) and the entire movie plays inside the office building, except for a few short trips outside. And office buildings are BORING.

Warbirds - nice story which takes place in the Pacific during the last months of WWII. Lots of mistakes in this one, which makes it a bit hilarious to watch, especially when you know something about WWII. I must say, the Zeroes looked historically correct, but: the Jap soldiers surrender very easily (they were known for rather committing suicide than surrender themselves); there's a text saying "three months later" which should be in August 1945 then, and by then the war only lasted two weeks, while they are repairing a plane which takes 45 days (and then I'm not even counting with the fact that it might not have been the first of the month to begin with); after the B29 is repaired, it looks very shiny and new, a CGI mistake which could have been easily avoided; etc, etc. I liked it. And it has Jamie Elle Mann, who looks hot.

Wizards of the Demon Sword - a Troma release, and it was a nice one this time. Good amount of cheese, not just a boring movie which is going nowhere, like Zombie Island Massacre. There's this bladekeeper, an evil lod with of course warriors and a witch to assist him, the beautiful daughter of the bladekeeper and a good warrior. Now, make up a story around these characters and you most likely hit the nail on the head concerning the pot of this movie. Predictable, but in a nice way. Stop motion monsters and ridiculous sfx make this complete. If you like cheesy flicks, watch this. If not, avoid.

Plaga Zombie: Zona Mutante - I actually liked this one better than part 1. I think it's because I was already familiar with the style now. It was more game/comic like for some reason and I loved it. Very funny details in the fights, never taking itself seriously (very important) and with an ending which leaves open the possibility of making a part 3. This is the way it should be. Recommended!

Le Frisson des Vampires/The Shiver of the Vampires - nice 70s vampire flick, it has that old atmosphere feeling and I like that. I didn't quite understand how some people became vampires in this, but I wasn't paying 100% attention, so maybe that's why. Story is so so, ending was OK.

Zeder - this is listed as a zombie movie, but don't expect hordes of the undead: this is more of an arty zombie flick where yopu don't get to see the zombie much, it's more about the atmosphere. Although I was in for hordes of..., I still liked this. Sometimes I could eve feel some fear from the characters. If you want a slightly more intelligent horrormovie, pick this one.

The Erotic Mirror - a medium porn movie disguised as a horror. About 70% of this is women having sex. Storyline: mirror contains ghost of a former madame of a whorehouse. The mirror makes certain women go horny, so the main character masturbates and buys the mirror. From then on, the lesbian sex continues, each time with one more woman present. That's it. The ending is very predictable and contains a warning against having sex in front of mirrors ;) One thing more to mention: there's a nurse character with tits the size of melons. When she shows 'em, you can see all the scars from the operations, gross really!

Welcome To Spring Break - slasher with Michael Ironside and I love that guy. There's a bikergang and loads of "breakers", kids on spring break. In the beginning, the biker's leader is executed. After a while, the killing starts. Who is it? I must say, I was quite surprised. Good movie, well enjoyable, recommended.

Bad Biology - weirdness! Totally strange movie about two people who are "shaped differently". They meet about halfway through the movie and "are born for each other". If there wasn't so much weird crap going on about multiple clitorises and a huge penis, this film would be categorized as a romantic drama.

Virus Undead - someone compared this one to The Birds, but the (bad cgi) birds don't play such a big role in this. But there's a virus and there are undead, and the entire cast is German, speaking English. Great! I had fun watching this. Gore is OK.

I'm starting to think this is more of a The Movies Slayer Watched Today Topic!

Autopsy - double feelings on this one. I thought the setting was nice, the hospital gives numerous opportunities for torturing equipment. There were several hilarious moments
Spoiler:
like the one where the cop is walking with th girl and the doctor's asistant, still unaware of what's gouing on, and then BAM, the other doctor's assistant rolls in with a strecther full of dismembered bodyparts. Really cool.
and the overall acting wasn;t bad. But then comes the ending. And it spoils it all. It was SO unsatisfying, it felt like the filmmakers just didn't know how to end it properly and the decided this would be the way. NOT. I was really disappointed at the ending, it makes the entire movie look worse than it actually could have been. A shame.

Vinyan - weird, strange movie. A couple goes into the Burmese jungle to find their son, who might be there. They're being ripped off and end up in a remote area. For a very long time you might wonder why this is a horror film, but when the end credits start to roll, you will know. I liked the atmosphere, it is a bit creepy, and it gets creepier towards the end. I didn't totally understand why things happened the way they did in this film, especially towards the ending, but I don't think that's necessary all the time. Liked it enough.

Night Skies - yay, a close encounter! It always makes me feel good: isolated group of young Americans vs unknown aliens. Although groups of teenagers having a horror experience are very cliche and worn out, this flick is made in a good way. I really liked the way they tried to link it to reality, I read up on the subject a little and there are several politicians claiming they have seen the UFOs too. I think it's a good thing John McCain didn't get elected president, although the army might think the same ;) The movie is very enjoyable, I recommend it.

AVH: Alien Versus Hunter - an asylum copy of... yeah, that one. As if people might not notice it is a rip-off of that bad, bad movie, there a re several ways in which they try to tell you the plot of that movie, for example: "They are ighting each other!" "Why is it fighting us then?" "Because we are in the way!". Pathetic, but also a bit funny. If you're up for a rip-off, watch this one. If not, avoid.

Død Snø - pretty OK, but not as good as I had expected. Especially the fact that for starters there are only a few nazi zombies (like 4, 5 of them) and not so much later there are suddenly hundreds of them buried in the snow on the very spot they have been for almost the entire movie was disappointing. Some small cliches, but nothing really disturbing. The zombies look nice, btw, and I liked the way it takes w hile before you get to see them. The zombies can run, but for some reason it didn't bother me this time, maybe because they used to be soldiers, I don't know. Mildly recommended.

Pervirella - haha, cheesy sleaze fun! Really, really bad movie which is very funny. SBiG at its best. The spaceship models suspended from very visible threads were a treat, overall it was a great rollercoasyter ride through badland! Recommended if you like bad movies to laugh at.

Reptilicus - Godzilla rip-off, and all bad sfx from the early Godzilla movies are all there. Very visible models, very fake explosions, etc. I liked the idea of the monster being able to recreate itself from one blown off bodypart. I had a blast with the song sung at the Tivoli dinner: "You're all dressed up and with a smile on your face, you look as gay as can be..." Same recommendation as on Pervirella.

The Beastmaster - nice fairytale/fantasy story with a guy who can talk to animals, in his case a bird of prey, two bunzings and a tiger which is painted black. Takes way too long to finish, though, it could have been done easily in 90 minutes, which would have made the film a lot better. Some cheese, but there a loads of fantasies out there with much more of it. I'd skip this one. But for me it's too late.

I'm with Karst, beastmaster rules!

Those bat people who disgest you are great! That was ripped off in a movie I saw recently, but can't remember the title...

I watched "Cold Hearts" (1999).... awful avoid it, i could barely pay attention and ended up just cutting clips while watching. BUT it was filmed in a shore town I spent much of my youth's summers at. So you all will be bored to tears, and hopefully, to diarrhea.

Hey, I'm not totally slating it, I'm just saying I liked other fantasies better because of more cheese. I agree on the batpeople though, they are cool.

It might be better to read the review from time to time: http://www.dead-donkey.com/modules/shar ... es&id=1019
I have too agree that (judging by the screens-shots and the plot) the movie seems cooler then it actually is.

I watched Dead End Drive In last night.
Pretty good flick. Completely what I had expected which is pretty rare for a good movie. Most of the time I expect a movie to be crap and it usually is. Not alot of meat to the story, but its a good timewaster.

Scar 3D - Maybe it's better in actual 3D. Just another of those torture porn movies, not as good as the saw franchise (and I don´t even like saw that much).

Dark Reel - a B-moviefan wins a contest and ends up as an extra (with text, actually) in a movie about pirates. At the first screening he sees a ghjost in it who warns about a killer on the set. Then a who-is-it which runs for way too long follows, and then the real screening can begin. Apart from Edward Furlongs acting (at least the first half), this movie is very forgettable. Like I said it is too long and not very original. I love Lance Hneriksen, but he missed the spot on this one thoroughly.

Mary Mary Bloody Mary - liked the weirdness of this, but also had to cope with many unorthodox vampire properties. Could live with that in the end. Nice little flick, might rewatch it some day.

The New Barbarians - Italian post nuke flick. Nothing special, the usual cheese and crappy fightscenes. I bought this on DVD, but now I think I should have watched it first.

Zombie Night - nice, kinda classic, albeit too unoriginal to become so. Make up is Dawn of the Dead style, story is OK, plain and simple. The obnoxious guy trying to only save himself is a nice touch and as a viewer, you really get irritated by the guy (or you're enjoying it a lot, depends on your stance). I'd say this is a little above average, which is quite an accomplishment for a zmbie movie nowadays.

and non-horror:

Entre les Murs - film about a teacher who teaches a multi ethnic class. If you liked the premise of Blackboard Jungle but thought it was way too American and/or unrealistic, try this.

Cut and Run (1985): Reporters fly into the Jungle to rescue the son of their boss. They have to deal with drug dealers and a strange group that is fighting against them. This movie isn't really horror imho. I would describe it as an adventure thriller with some gory decapitation scenes. Somehow the story didn't really make sense to me. I enjoyed it only because of Lisa Blount and Michael Berryman.

Donnie Darko (2001) Director's Cut: This is one strange and confusing movie. I've already seen the theatrical version, which I really liked. This version explains things a bit better. A teenager isn't killed in an accident and creates a tangential universe. He changes things that would normally not happen, but must realize that either he kills himself and destroys the tangential universe or his beloved ones will die. The story involves time travel, parallel universes and a strange scary dead boy wearing a bunny suit that gives the teenager criminal orders.

Wild Thing (1987): Forget Batman and Spiderman, and have a look at Wild Thing. A little boy witnesses the murder of his parents and grows up in an apocalyptic city full with criminals. The fights for the weak, steals and give it to the poor ones. Just like a modern day Robin Hood would. Oh yeah and he also fights the gang whose leader killed his parents. Robert Knepper as Wild Thing is totally cool in this low budget B-Movie. Solid story in which one thing leads to another. Recommended.

Kairo (2001): Strange horror movie about ghosts and people getting lonely. I believe this movie is a critic on modern society in which computers and Internet forums and more important that meeting real people. Unfortunately for me the movie wasn't scary at all and a lot of thing didn't make sense. It was okay.

The Midnight Meat Train (2008): A good example for "gore doesn't make a good horror movie". I heard that the book is better, because it explains what the train is all about. I won't spoil it, but the movie was quite weak. It was too long paced and nothing is really explained. I didn't really like it.

Nightmare City (1980): Cheesy B-Movie with zombies that use guns and can fly airplanes. I enjoyed this for what it was. A pretty good SBiG example with nice girls, good gore and totally cheesy dialogues. Some sort of radioactive accident leads to zombies appearing and the military is unable to stop it. We can follow a couple fleeing from and fighting against the zombies. Recommended for SBiG fans.

The Burrowers (2008): Interesting story with some nice actors. I must admit that I watched this mostly for Clancy Brown. The movie has some nice gore and intelligent scenes. Unfortunately the burrowers aren't very scary. The movie was okay, but nothing extraordinary. Some people compare this to "The Descent"; and I must say that those probably haven't seen at least one of the movies. Besides "The Descent" imho being far superior, "The Burrowers" has nothing to do with caves and the monsters are not alike.

Well, for those who may want a diferent opinion, I really liked The Midnight Meat Train. Thought it was a great movie and I really recomend it.
