I'd like to get my hands around the throat that found it neccessary to yet again disgrace a classic.... :matrix:

Dawn is dawn....people will love it for the same reasons some hate it....and I'm not one of the latter.... :x

To some Dawn was pretty much perfect the way it was .....some will bitch it was slow, that the gore was nothing exceptional.....etc blahblah....
Well if you prefer zombie 90, than stick with that by all means !!!

It's a sad sad day when dawn of the dead gets re-made. Even if they do a good job, and pay homage to the original.

They should have left it alone. :(

The original is a classic in my eyes, and no matter how good the remake is the original will always be a fond memory for me.

if you dont like remakes, dont watch them. i try not to think of remakes having anything to do with the original, as so many are lame assed commitee made mtv catch phrase clones that have little to nothing in common with the original. with the lack of original ideas or even thinking from hollywood, i'm sure eventually everything will be remade.

but i have low standards.

I agree with monkey!

If a remake is made then i dispend my knowledge of the original and go in with a fresh mind to see what the film is like!

I've seen so many bad horrors that nowadays a film has to be quite bad for me not to see the good in it. (Resident Evil I liked!!)

Take Lord of the Rings (kinda a remake of the books), I've never read them but I think the films are astounding and faultless.

Book worms would disagree. Read the book if ya want the whole full story. The film delivers what I want from it

actually Lord of the rings book is boring and ermm... too snotty lol
i like it only coz of language. perfect english.
BUT the movie is crap.
actresses who play elf's womens - ugly. ffs
Frodo.. omg that young actor... i can not see him. his always crying face! it makes me sick.
what i like, very like - first 5 minutes of first part. battle is terrific.

My son LOVES LOTR (both of 'em), He wants to read the book now, so for that alone the films are good :)

Remakes are OK, some are better than others, I enjoyed "The Ring" (US) it was pretty good, much more accessible for western audiences. Not AS good, but pretty good and better than "ringu".

I can understand "westernising" a film, but to remake a hollywood film is a little pointless unless you can add something or tell the story in a more interesting way.

I'd rather have a good remake than a bad sequel.

the Ring sucks. it's NOT SCARY. that's all
Ringu is scary.
so, LIKE HORROR MOVIE, original Ringu is better.
NOT IMO.

But why don't they remake the ones that needs it, and only the ones that are perfect in it's original form? To make money, sure.. but it still sucks!

I'd love to see remakes of 'Metropolis (1922)', 'Forbidden Zone', 'War of the Worlds (1953)' (is actually coming out soon), 'Logan's Run', 'Neverwhere' (the series), 'The Tripods' (series), 'Day of the Triffids', 'The Birds' and perhaps 'Westworld' and it's sequel? And how about a 3rd Gremlins film?

Eh actually sequels are a whole different story. 10 Friday films and not one sequel to 'Highway to Hell', 'Killer Clowns', 'Nightbreed' or 'Flash Gordon'?????

A 3rd Gremlins and a 3rd Ghostbusters would be very cool, It's not that I don't like sequels, I don't lik bad and / or lazy sequels.
