I got this movie for $5 at my work the other day (Sam Goody/Best Buy) and it's pretty good...

My only complaint is that the plot fell short in a few places, and other things just didn't make sense... for example, I don't understand the scene with the woman whos face was destroyed by a vat of acid... for no reason, she screamed, and in the next scene, she was on the ground getting her head melted off.

Another thing that was pretty dumb was Joe the plumber coming back to life and killing some bitch in room 36... He was in the tub?????

I dunno, it was okay. Some parts were just plain gay. The tarantula scene was funny, to say the least!

the whole acid dropping incident i assumed she saw the other body fainted bumped the table abit so the jug perhaps was tipping and eventually fall... made sense to me..

i liked the film quite abit... i thought the beyond was one of lucio fulci's better flicks.. gave me alot more respect for italian horror flicks... (saw this before suspiria)

I haven't seen it in a while and I don't have access to my copy right now, so I'm going by memory here. I think it was not Joe the Plujmber who came up out of the water. I think it was the warlock guy from the prologue.
But I might be wrong. If nto, it makes sense in the long run because everyoen comes back to life, anyway.
The thing that confused me for the longest time was the scene where the blind woman runs out of the house and it goes into a tight close-up of her feet running. I couldn't figure out the signifigance. Finally, I realized that'w where we are supposed to know that she isn't blind because she runs around the ottoman.
My favorite Fulci.

Yeah, that's what I assumed upon watching it.

I think that the creature that rose from the bathtub was the plumber, cuz it looked like the eyes were gouged out... I could be wrong.

also some time since I watched it, but didn't that 'running scene' you described signify that she didn't make any sound?

I don't think so. I distinctly remember her making a sound as she ran away the first time. Then, when they did the replays, they took the sound out. That's how I knew it was signifigant.
Dang, it would be easier to discuss this if I'd seen it anytime recently. I have the DVD and the divx, but neither is in my house.
