Post subject:  Uwe Boll ejected from big-budget ring

Quote:
Uwe Boll, the German director the critics love to hate, will return to low-budget filmmaking now that his latest and biggest production, the $70 million fantasy epic "In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale," bombed at the boxoffice.

Reached at his home in Mainz, Boll said the results from "King" mean he will be unable to continue with big-budget productions. Instead, the German director has lined up a decidedly pulpy title for his next adaptation -- the video game shoot 'em up "Zombie Massacre".

My soul weeps for him.

Sorry, did I write 'weeps'?

I meant 'Laughs hysterically at the misfortune of the deluded vagina.'

He was ahead of his time.

HA HA HA HA HA HA I am almost pissing myself laughing at his misfortune. Talk about justice. Finally this menial and lowly peasant got what he deserved.

To be honest his films were OK. They were not bad if I was absolutely stoned off my face and needed something to laugh at.

What am I saying, he is a totally untalented piece of scrotal fluff, not even worth washing off with water. The only cure is boiling him in bleach and burning what is left.

Oh and just to be safe his remains should be fired into space. Straight out to the oort cloud and beyond.

Wow! If he's that bad I need to take a look-see…

Alone in the Dark is the closest I got to seeing one of his movies, but it was €5.25 to rent for the night and no Christian Slater film is worth that.

Bloodrayne looks awful enough to be great though. Michael Madsen and Meat Loaf in the same film? Come on now. Classic, surely?

*choke*

What about True Romance and Heathers? Well worth it.

I'll give you True Romance, but I think the Tarantino factor has more to do with it than Slater.

However, both those films were a long time ago and I cannot forgive him for Churchill: The Hollywood Years. That is a stain on my brain no amount of scrubbing with industrial strength Brando will erase.

The idea of him as Moses, however… http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0955411/

I take your original point though, Slater certainly has slipped down the pecking order, he takes what he can get nowadays.

When he was young he performed well in "The Name of the Rose".

The only thing I remember about The Name of the Rose is that there are boobs in it. I was young, it made a big impression.

I'm going to watch Alone in the Dark now in a masochistic bid to prove myself right.

That is a bad movie. In fairness, I don't think Slater is to blame, but he certainly needs to think about a project more before he signs on. There was nothing to recommend it at all.

Whasizface Dorff too… For shame!

Not worth €5.25 (nor the time taken to DL it, actually…).

I wonder how really awful films get made. Does no one along the way say, "Er, hey, this is a pieceashit and makes no sense. Stop!"
