Why so many groups/people rip the movies without ripping the subtitles? ![]() ![]() ![]() Why not rip the subtitles? Many titles do not have them (nor a hearing impaired subtitles?) or is just a option of the ripper? |

Many of my own DVDs are Dutch releases, and they only come with Dutch subs, so I wouldn't be able to rip English subs. I'm sure this is the case more often with other people. Luckily, there are many sites where you can download subs in your native language. |

A lot of horror movies come on DVDs released by smaller distributors, and that often means no subs. The major Hollywood movies usually have them, but they probably only account for a fraction of the movies posted in this forum. So no subs generally mean that none were available to rip, unfortunately. ![]() |

I never understood that, whenever I buy an import dvd (read: from the us or uk), they hardly ever have english subs. Not that I need em, but it makes me wonder if they aren't any hearing impaired folks over there ![]() |

it usually looks better to download the subs and then add them on. Hard coded subs can be annoying if you want to take a screen shot or something. |

In Hungary and Austria there is hardly ever any subtitle included on the DVD except for the Hungarian or German dub. |
