Why so many groups/people rip the movies without ripping the subtitles? :( That make very complicated to us, non-native English speakers, to get/watch/understand some movies. Personally I need at least English subtitles for a good deal of movies. Yeah, I've been trying to improve my listening/writing but I'm not ok yet (as you all have seen in my posts  ) I understand that English is the main language from most of the movies, and I'm sorry to not kn ow english well enough to not need subtitles, shame on me :(

Why not rip the subtitles? Many titles do not have them (nor a hearing impaired subtitles?) or is just a option of the ripper?

Many of my own DVDs are Dutch releases, and they only come with Dutch subs, so I wouldn't be able to rip English subs. I'm sure this is the case more often with other people.

Luckily, there are many sites where you can download subs in your native language.

A lot of horror movies come on DVDs released by smaller distributors, and that often means no subs.

The major Hollywood movies usually have them, but they probably only account for a fraction of the movies posted in this forum.

So no subs generally mean that none were available to rip, unfortunately. :?

I never understood that, whenever I buy an import dvd (read: from the us or uk), they hardly ever have english subs. Not that I need em, but it makes me wonder if they aren't any hearing impaired folks over there

it usually looks better to download the subs and then add them on. Hard coded subs can be annoying if you want to take a screen shot or something.

In Hungary and Austria there is hardly ever any subtitle included on the DVD except for the Hungarian or German dub.
