I liked Basic Instinct. I also liked the idea behind Showgirls, although it had trouble to come across on screen.

The others, of course I liked them! I think SST is one of my all time favourites!

I think he's way overrated as a director, but he did have some classics. The writer's credits are hilarious!

Those are good uns, his others are pretty lame. He had a lot of budget thrown at Starship Troopers and based on the source material for me it was a big dissapointment.

etc. kind of check mates that in my mind, they were decent enough; but not all three of them in the top 5. No way, no how.

I know someone who would throw Serenity in there (and someone who would throw Demolition Man in there :lol: )), I kind of like toying with controversy so would drop bombs like Screamers as a good film.

If you count Blade Runner, Dune, then they shuffle too.

Yea Alens adn Predator 2 are the other two in my book...

I didn't even consider Star Wars.. they are kind of in there own leauge.. you cna only compare them to other star wars films.

Westworld / They Live / Mad Max 2 and Escape from New York??? Good movies but hardly what i woudl call action flicks by todays standards... you need things like a 50 car pile up crash on a freeway to earn action move status nowdays.

Ugh! Starship Trropers makes me violent. I remember seeing the promo/behind the scenes for it
where Verhoeven was extolling the virtues of the book and saying that PK Dick would be proud of
the movie. Nothing can be fucking further from the truth. That movie was such a divergence from
the book they should never ever have used the title Starship Troopers. It should have been called
"Teenage Love Bug Fight" or some other fuck-tard name. The book is excellent. If I were an android,
I certainly would not dream of this movie. :lol:

According to the news "Requiem for a Dream" director Darren Aronofsky is directing the new Robocop movie, as long as he keeps with the gore and violence of the original I am in. If he lets up just one bit I will be so pissed off.

A movie of his that I liked but my friends hated: "The Fountain", I thought the effects were top notch plus the ending was solid. Spud is definitely right if Aronofsky messes up on this movie it will be a first for him.

Yeah the fountain was a weird one, it was hard to watch but i enjoyed it. My little brother loves it, but i know some people who have no time for it.
