i don't know if anyone else has noticed this (or is interested?) but ive just noticed:

within the woods, sam raimi's precursor to evil dead supposedly myred in legal problems and as such cannot be released commecially.

the score from WTW is taken directly from the score by Denny Zeitlin for the remake of 'invasion of the body snatchers'

IOTBS was released in 1978 and during that year WTW was in production. anyone think they saw the movie and used the soundtrack without consent now leading to legal problems?

might have nothing to do with it?

That might explain it. I'd heard that's what it was left off of book of the dead which was a major dissapointment.

I would have thought they could remove and remaster the soundtrack, but I guess that's complicated. I know a lot of people who would by the short.

Well if you look at the copyright issues appended on EVIL DEAD alone then Within the Woods must be a nightmare!

To be honest, I'm glad I can get hold of a copy thru ebay/ed2k, I know it's appalling quality but it's watchable. And will do me!
I count that as having seen WTW !!!

yeah i got the version from ed2k and altho is BAD quality is no worse than some of the vhs tapes i have of some of the nasties

movie pretty much sucks anyway.. Only interesting for in debth study IMO.
