Just wondering what everyone's favourite martial arts film was? I've enjoyed watching loads over the previous months and think my favourite has to be: Fist of Legend (1994) Its actually a remake of another really great film which is Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury, but its a much tighter version in my opinion and the action sequences are pretty immense. I've been through and watched the old Jackie Chan films which, although have a bit too much slapstick in, are pretty awesome... especially the Drunken Master films (Drunken Master II (1994) being the better). |

I don't like martial arts films. I enjoyed some weird installments, like Crippled Masters. In total I have watched maybe 10. I liked Shaolin Soccer the best. |

I preferred Kung Fu Hustle to Shaolin Soccer... same writer/director/star (Stephen Chow), have you seen that Slayer? |

Nope. Only ones I can remember now are Soccer, Crippled Masters, Shaolin vs Evil Dead, and several movie in which kung fu plays a part, but not very big, or just for laughs (Super Inframan, Kung Pow). Like I said, I watched very few. It's not my thing. |

Although its got some awesome scenes in it, didn't you find it totally pretentious and downright silly? I mean fighting on top of an elephant? Compare that to fist of legend where jet li just kicks the guys in the face, no f8cking around, just whacks them in the face. ![]() vs ![]() ![]() |

I must admit I've never thought of Samurai movies as being in the martial arts category. |

There are so many types of martial arts movies... it's more a medium than a genre! ![]() One really big movie is missing here: Dao / The Blade (1995) others that come to mind: Fist of Legend, The One-Armed Swordsman, Dirty Ho, Iron Monkey, The Prodigal Son, Heroes of the East, Come Drink with Me, Once upon a time in China II, Drunken master II, Fong Sai Yuk |
