momma?

j/k
though i thought wrong turn was a lot better then i thought it would be. i figured another teen drama with gaycliche horror elements, but it was quite a bit better.
though what was up with them hillbilies? man, they just kept comming. thier mamma was a circus freak, thier daddy was the roadrunner. beep beep.

i dont think the parents(err, if they had parents in the traditional sense) were in it. i was just saying the killers wouldnt stay dead. its been a month or so since ive seen it, i just vaguely remember the jackal-like one taking enough damage to die on several occasions, and the end they all kept getting back up, recovering from almost cartoonish damage ready for more.

my response was along the lines of a quote from cape fear and part of from the simpsons. max kaydees parents were circus sideshow people, his mother drank stryctnine and his dad was a snake handler(i think),
the simpsons portion was what principle skinner said to sideshow bob about not being able to kill bart simpson('that kid is like the roadrunner, man, he just wont go down').

yes, i watch to much tv,

Freaks are as good as dwarves to me
But inbred to the point of regeneration....that to me is a plotline i have seen in a few films already with hillbilly trash. The wife and kids loved it...I was wanting to watch something else..I honestly wished I could have walked out on it but it was family night so I was obligued to stay, and from a Stan Winston film...I was expecting a helluva lot more than what I got...which is more Mtv trash driven crap,Iknew what was going to happen 10 minutes before it did, call me jaded or whatever but that is the way I feel,I would rather watch something like Humongous or the Hills have Eyes..hell..even House of 1000 Corpses.I think when that movie was released here before I made it pretty clear that it was tripe...not much different than cabin fever in my opinion. If I piss anyone off with this than rest assured you aren't the only one :P My opinion on some other favorite films is even more seathing(which has got my horsewhipped in the past)

I was pleasantly surprised by this one, but then again my expectations were pretty low. It was refreshing to see a "new generation" slasher movie that actually has original and imaginative kills. Also, the lead female character didn't make me want to jump into the screen and kill her myself, (admittedly this a problem I normally have). In fact I was actually rooting for her, which is a rarity indeed. I hate the useless bitches who just stand around and scream instead of taking some kind of action. I always look forward to seeing their blood flow.

eh, i was expecting mtvcrap, like most of the 'horror' movie teen angst dawson's creek shit that has been the norm, but it was more violent/gory then what i was anticipating. that is why i thought it was decent. i was expecting Scream 2 type gore. that is, a lack of anything.
eh, i guess dxa just dont like hillbilies. i would think most hillbillies would be somewhat easier to kill. with thier lack of dental hygene i imagine biteing thru bones wouldnt be that appealing, and i would hate to be gummed to death by a cannibal hick.
coincidently, a lot of people think i'm a hillbilly. nope, actually Im just white trash.

Those trees are what did it in for me. Just couldn't get over those damn west virginian trees (reproduced with amazing accuracy in a hollywood studio). Since fooking when do tree branches form walkways? I'm gonna take a trip to WV so I can walk through the trees at about 30 feet above ground.

Other than that it was pretty ok and stuff kinda almost.

It isn't the hillbilly element..it's the movie itself which I find insulting.
I understand that mistaking you for a hillbilly thing, I get that when people think I am a hippie, till I open my mouth.

I totally agree with you DX. Didn't see any originality at all. Just the everyday predictable crap I'm used to. Silly characters. Laughable dialogue. As for reviving the slasher genre, that's not a good thing IMHO. :moon:

Deliverance was better. Southern Comfort was MUCH better.

If you don't agree then that's only because you have a different opinion.
