Zombi 2,
Zombie
Zombie flesh eaters
Insel der i don't know what....

You know wich one I mean....the fulci original...

My version (italian shock label ,1h27mins35secs PAL (!)(=91/92mins NTSC) is cut to hell I think - granted it's not as bad as the first vipco release, but a trained ear can distinguish Awfull Sound editing from scenes being completely cut out anyday.... :googley:

And there are several instances in the first 45 mins alone(first fat zombie hitting the water , the unfinished autopsy scene , zombie vs shark) where the music sounds like a scratched lp record....

How long does your version run ? (please state pal or ntsc)

or do you know of any longer version ? IMDB isn't much help speaking of a argitinean version....

To make things hilarious , I also stumbled on this : http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... =tech-info

Look at that running time !!! :-o (and release date  )

I'm gonna have to time mine. I copied it off a mate who said it was totally uncut, certainly the eye piercing bit and the body chomping is in it.

I lent it to a mate a couple of months ago and he said there were 3 bits in it that he'd never seen before.

I'll let you know

John

The 18 certificate UK cinema and video versions were missing the splinter in the eye scene, and some blood spurts. The uncut version was released in the early 80s, but fell foul of the Obscene Publications Act, and was prosecuted as a "video nasty".

In August 1999, the uncut version was submitted to the British Board of Film Classification for a video certificate, in the hope that it would fare better than previous BBFC-approved versions. This was a partial success, since the film escaped with an 18 rating after only 23 seconds of cuts, compared to the 1m 46s which was censored in the earlier video and cinema prints. Only 2 scenes were censored: the woman who gets her eye impaled on a splinter, and a later sequence in which zombies feast on her body. The later rereleased video version in the UK features both sequences.

The Australian print is the same as the heavily cut UK print.

The US version released by Anchor Bay Entertainment is the uncut, uncensored version, containing all the violence, gore, and nudity.

Older U.S. prints (such as the Wizard Video version) have "Jerry Gross Presents" (or some equivalent) before the title. This has been removed from the more recent Anchor Bay release.

For the U.S. dubbed version, the character name of Ann Bolt was changed to Ann Boles and the character name of Bryan Curt was changed to Brian Hull.

Some of the productions stills and lobby cards for "Zombi 2" feature a scene that was not in the final cut of the film, featuring the fat "boat zombie" at the beginning of the film climbing out of the river in New York, presumably after being shot into the water by the policeman on the derelict boat.

Although the Anchor Bay version is uncut in terms of gore, it is actually missing some brief footage during a few scenes:
The opening frames have been slightly trimmed, as well as the opening music.
The scene with the professor holding up his gun has been shortened.
The phone booth scene is missing some footage.
The shark attack sequence has been slightly cut.
A full frontal nudity shot of Olga Karlatos in the shower is missing. Reportedly, the upcoming Shriek Show DVD under the title "Zombi 2" will restore all the above cuts that were trimmed from the Anchor Bay Release

R0 - No cuts
R0 - No cuts
R0 - No cuts
R0 - This film was originally banned in the UK. It was then released in a heavily cut state. This DVD version is a lesser cut version labelled "Extreme version". Please note however, there are still nearly 3 minutes of footage missing. For more details, visit our horror site The Dungeon.
R2 - No cuts

From my understanding, The R1/R0 one is uncensored, however some content has been cut. The PAL R2/R0 uk version is cut.

That leaves the Japanese, the german and the one in holland that are uncensored, but I'm not sure if have footage missing.

@prayer, Never trust what it says on the tin, anyone who owns a vipco dvd can tell you that :matrix: :(

A "dawn of the dead case " it is then.....

What a blunder by fulci not to include the scene of the fat zombie resurfacing - I have that still on my disc (it's the same as the R1 I think, certainly the music skips during the shark VS zombie scene)...

It would make that last scene so less .....obligational.....

Well I HAVE that dutch version.......(italian shock label)

It is with distance the best version out there EXTRA'S wise ( even some alternative soundtracks on it) but the film itself is the same as the "uncut" r0/1........

thus still not the full 100% uncut version....just assuming out of simplicity such a thing exists out there .....somewhere.....

I just watched it again last night and it was annoyingly obvious stuff (wether it was gore or just crap that slowed down the flow of the movie) was missing.....

I guess I'm just asking to much.......

I have the Dutch edition which is 88 mins (PAL).
Here's what I found : http://www.devildead.com/indexdbtop.php3?langage=0?ion=1&FilmsID=729

Not very useful it seems... But I may find the answer in my recently bought bible: "Beyond Terror: the films of Lucio Fulci" (edited by Fab Press, more than 300 pages about the maestro, he he  ). I may get some info about the movie in the credits of the last pages. I'll check as soon as I'll be home !!
