Just asking, because I downloaded this movie ages ago when I used <shudder> Kazaa, and I've watched it dozens of times as it's one of my favourite movies. However, I just picked up a non-UK original DVD of the movie and watching it there are a number of scenes which contain much more gore than the d/l version I already have, namely :

Quote:
Potential Spoilers to follow

DL version - Scene missing : The squaddie who implaes himself on the tree branch is shown fully impaled.

DL version - Scene Missing : During the 1st attack when Sgt Wells gets hit by the werewolf, his guts are visibly hanging out while he and cooper try to push them back in.

DL version - shorter scene : During the landrover attack, the werewolf arm with the knife through it is shown for a longer period.

DL version - Scene Missing : During one attack on the farmhouse, the dog tugs at Sgt Wells' stomach dressing.

DL version - Scene Missing : During Farmhouse attack Joe is grabbed through the window by a werewolf and Cooper cuts the arm off, leaving it attached to Joe's collar.

DL version - Scene severely cut : When Joe hotwires the Landrover in the barn he switches on the headlights and illuminates a werewolf eating the squaddie who gets pulled through the farmhose window earlier. The wolf bites off his head and throws it at the landrover.

DL version - Scene missing & shorter : When Cooper opens the rear door of the Landrover Joe's body is shown and a torrent of blood and guts slops out of the back of the vehicle.

DL version - shorter scene : During Spoony's battle in the kitchen he stabs the werewolf about a dozen times (rather than two!) before it gets back up

DL version - Scene missing : Shot of werewolves eating Spoony's remains before snarling at the dog.

DL version - shorter scene : Cooper's beating at the hands of the Ryan Werewolf is longer.

Spoilers Over

I checked the bbfc website which says the running time matches the DVD I've got, and that no cuts were made. Seems an incredible amount of gore for a 15 certificate. Otherwise, what poxy version have I been watching which is so heavily cut?

I'm sure one of the rips out will be from a Region 1, but I'd like to clarify as I'm confused. :?

Perhaps the DL version came from the showing on the Sci-Fi channel here. I came over to the states just as Dog Soldiers was released in the UK and they were showing it on TV here. It wasn't uncut but still great. They left a surprising amount of gore in, but all the language was toned down. Is this the DL version?

The uk dvd is uncut :)

While it had just come out at cinema here in the uk, it was shown on sci-fi channel. I think it was buckywheat that captured it for us, but the violence and gore wasn't touched, all the fucks were removed though

However, the uk DVD has no cuts and actually has audio commentry which the foreign ones don't:

All the language is in the DL version, just the gore mssing. Must be a censored one from europe somewhere, Germany maybe? No, they'd have ruined it with a dub if that was the case.

lol, true. There's a US R-rated version with both the language and gore cut (language is dubbed by the proper actors), what's the framerate?

I had to download 3 different versions of this to get an uncut one :(

I got the sci-fi channel one (cut for language)
then a cut for gore one and finally an uncut version :)

And then I bought the DVD anyway

There was a) a crap cam b) Bucky's Sci-fi channel (advert cuts and language toned down) c) first DVD-rip from the us R-rated version and then finally d) a proper

C and D were group rips.

You should know better than to download something not on the mainpage:

ed2k: dog.soldiers.2002.proper.dvdrip.xvid-epic.avi  [698.21 Mb] [Stats]

I believe is the uncut version.

Is the cut R-rated version, or censored if it isn't from the us dvd ;)

Like I said, it was when I used Kazaa :o :( so I didn't even know this place existed. Come to think of it, I can't even remember how I found this place. :?

I guess that must be my DL version then, but all the langauge is intact. :? Unless someone took the cut print and synched the uncut soundtrack.

My new DVD is PAL and runs at just over 100 minutes.
