It's the sequel, apparently. Looks godawful if you ask me :?

oh so its a fan film then? That would explain it.

Last I heard, they were 'remaking' Day of the Dead, in so far that they were making a sequel to Dawn of the Dead:Raped Edition.

As for sequel, well Romero's still pissing around

Heh, yup. An unofficial sequel without Romero... can't believe this was being considered for a theatrical release anywhere. Looks more like somebody got a camera for Christmas than a sequel to Day.

lol, I dread to think what xmas is like round your house...

I'm sure some of that trailer looked like it was in an institution, was that a mad scientist, some soldiers and a fleet of zombies.... when do you have time for xmas dinner?

Definitely an amateur job, how come you can tell which are proper actors and which aren't even before they speak a line? Don't you think that's odd? Or is it just me who can sense these people? Of course when they speak you can tell, they put on that voice... I call it the "americaniser" (nothing against american, but most of these come from the states, and the same applies to the british films like this i've seen)... its kind of an unfamiliarity with the script that comes out and every sentance sounds like a question. They emphasis the totally wrong words and the whole line sounds corny as hell and at completely the wrong tone/pitch (it sounds much higher than it should). This is always the case in low budget (although a few bigger budget movies I could name too) movies. It's the typical "fake" voice... its by far the worse in female actors I noticed too.

Listen people, if you want to act, more power to you, but don't put so much effort into saying the most simple of things, speak it not like you mean it... but like you would people!

or am I just insane?

Possibly

But you can tell if somebody's a bad actor or not by looking at their facial expressions, too (at least IMO). Something's definitely wrong if you're looking constipated when you're supposed to look scared. :wacky:

how can you say such a thing... look at my range.

/me hands kyle a piece of paper with four photos of a guy looking like he needs a dump, with the captions "happy", "sad", "Scared" and "relieved".

Could be both. But fan films, if that's what this is, aren't worth sueing. They don't make enough dinero.

the worst thing is the blatantly pro-american piece of turd it looks like it is...

Something wrong... it must be commies! More likely its all that shit the waste desposal companies dump in the oceans, or the floride content in the water

Bit of the trailer look okay, but all the acting, speech and the storyline sound terrible.

Check out http://www.diamonddead.com for info about what George A Romero is involved in - here's a clue Image

Well I think alot has to do with experience, and some has to do with production value. It's difficult to get funding for any movie unless you're a well known studio or actor. With no money to speak of it's hard to get the peopper sound recording, and it's also difficult to justify reshooting a take just because someones delivery is off. Trust me, even super duper well known actors deliver shitty line now and then, only in a multi-million dollar Hollywood production you can reshoot the take and waste as much film as needed to get things just right.

Also for all the naysayers, just remember that these independants are the only people doing these movies anymore. All of the major studios rarely if ever do any real splatter anymore (look at Resident Evil - come on talk about pussing out on gore, not a singe zombie munching scene :argue: ). And while the Japanese churn it out like Clinton rim-jobs interns, I find their overall style a bit weird, I mean thoe whole live action anime thing just doesn't work too well.

the problem is that they shouldn't be making these drudging movies... they should be making what they used to do... stuff hollywood won't. in this case, they seem to be just emulating hollywood on a crap budget, I'd much prefer them to do something original.

This has always been the appeal of independant cinema for me. Night of the Living Dead is one of the grand daddy's. Romero went out and did something new, and pulled it off brilliantly. Evil Dead.... Raimi went out and did something new. The keyword here is new, something hollywood doesn't do very well anymore. The greatest independant movies are always the ones that don't deal with hollywood, but try and do stuff they won't :)

This looks like they are trying to make a hollywood movie without a budget and that's rarely worked in my experience.

The japanese movies are awesome, Junk, Versus, etc. are all top class in my view :)
