I was really looking forward to the forthcoming Anchor Bay UK DVD of Evilspeak as I guessed it would sail through the BBFC these days. I've just noticed that the BBFC website lists it as running 80 min 27 sec, as opposed to 99 min 53 sec for the full uncut version, and states that "All previous BBFC cuts waived but work re-edited, removing narrative material present in previous releases". What can you do 
Anchor Bay seem to have lost the plot abit! To think this is the same company that in 2003 took the BBFC to court over their ruling for Last House on the Left. And they go and do this to Evil Speak

Paul-Scream22's first attempt at a reply was something along these lines :
But then I had a vague recollection that the DVD had anchor bays logo on the bottom and that maybe it was them that did it but was sure it was BU! And didn't want some smart alec twat of a member to post
So went to amazon and searched for region 2 dvd of last house on the left and low and behold : 
Although I was certain it was BU also 
Either way, the point was they battle for one thing strongly and then not bother about another! |

LOL, it was, anchor bay bought the rights to all BU's UK releases after BU (UK) almost went bankrupt due to fighting the BBFC

Yeah thats what i thought, but thought that who ever took em to court woulda been the ones to release the cut version. Knew I shouldn't have bothered raising the point!!! If I'd a said BU then it would have been AB and vice versa 
Either way still shitty about Evil Speak. |

That's a little misleading, ONE of the two versions of evilspeak the US (the butchered one!) and the PRE-CERT UK release (~100 mins) It's a 2 disk release, so AB haven't gone completely mental

I've just re-read that, looks like neither of the discs are uncut, AB are releasing the US version, missing dialogue but uncut in terms of gore, and the 18 UK version, which appears to be the old Apex tape, cut to ribbons. What's wrong with the formerly banned Videospace print ie the full uncut version? |

You're right
WTF are they playing at, why not just edit the 2 into one and release a single disk version?? The first post in that thread has been changed though, it read before like it was the pre-cert they were releasing. |

But why not just piece together the uncut version is beyond me. I don't know much about this sort of stuff, but if I was on AnchorBays board, I would be saying the same
