Dick Smith, Tom Savini, or other?

You know, it was Dick Smith, not Tom Savini, that made Jason's face for Friday 13th IV.

And NOT CG artists, please. That's unfair. The $2,000,000 travelling mat from Hannibal's Brain-eating scene vs. the $1,000 Raft Scene from The Burning isn't really a fair comparison, ya dig?

Tom savini for me, Although Rob Bottin (The Thing amongst others) would be an equal and probably better for creature FX :)

I like the makeup in the first Hellraiser too (not sure who did it though)

I know that one of the contributors was Bob Keen, who did Alien and Waxwork.

And the second and third Hellraiser also.

I liked the makeup in the first Hellraiser too. That one dude...he looked so DRIPPY. It was cool.

Bob was in charge of the make-up FX for Hellraiser. I interviewed him at Pinewood studios many years ago when I used to write for a Heavy Metal fanzine. Got a nice tour of the Image Animation workshops too. ;)

For gore, it has to be Savini with Greg Nicotero following up (although he's a Savini student anyway). For creatures Rob Bottin, and Stan Winston.

The people who did the Guinea pig series win hands down for gore IMHO.
And for sheer volume Peter Jackson's Braindead :)

Stan Winston is a good sfx wizard :) He's done some good make-up effects, but for sfx, he's worked on stuff like The Thing, Dead & Buried, Alien, for make-up he's done T3, T2, etc.

Won an oscar for sfx :)

As an added bonus, he director of filmography on Pumpkinhead (wrote it too) and 2nd unit director on aliens :)
