Post subject:  Ultimate Firday Extras suck

First of all, I'm not putting down anyones release. If you put this out on ed2k, great.
The extras/deleted scenes suck. Bad. They have all the extra gore from Friday one (woop-de-doo, its out everywhere but the Us anyway), but they only take up a quarter of the screen. They use this stupid set up where the top right is the final cut (with the words "Final Cut" taking up the other half of the top and below that are the words "Origianl Edit") and then the other quarter of the screen is the original scenes. Then, they run them side by side so you can see the differences. Lame, Not as lame as the fact that there are no scenes from 2 and 3, whcih I know for a fact were cut. Then, they have the dleleted/extended scenes from part 4. Fine. Its all the stuff that they shot for TV, so of course, its not much. Except, I edited them into the movie and releeased it and I can tell you for sure that there are at least two more extended scenes not included (maybe they're being saved for the Ultimate Ultimate edition). Nothing for 5, but its crap , so who cares. 6 goes back to the quarter screen comparisons. Nothing fancy here. A few extended daaths, No extra blood, though, just shots that were held longer. Another big whoop-de-doo. Finally, we come to the "best" part, Friday 7. This is the one Beuchler supposedly had the footage for and tried to get Paramount to re-incorporate back into the movie. I can see why they didn't. His recovered footage is on an old VHS tape, complete with static. So, this is played fullscreen with Kane Hodder and Beuchler commentary (not optional commentray, mind you) and a stupid graphic at the bottom telling you that they are doing commentary, just in case you forget. Of course, its really there so you don't try and edit it back into the movie yourself. Still despite that, its the best thing in the package. Some extra gore for pretty much every killing. Its blurry and there are no sound effects, but its better than nothing. Plus, there's an extended/alternate scene (despite the commentary, its not clear which it is and I'm not going back to watch part 7 to find out) and an alternate ending which leaves the door open for a sequel. There's nothing for part 8, but who wants to see more of Tibor Suckass' FX anyway. That's it. There's a special feature on the make-up which I didn't watch.
God, I'm glad I didn't buy this.

Let's hope that the UK-Box-Set will be better. It'd be quite difficult to make it worse.... That is, If they ever release one... :-o

Well, the Uk box set would be weird. It wouldn't include Friday 1, since Warner still owns that one. Probably the reason it hasn't shown up, yet. Woudl anyone really buy a boxed set of 2-8?
I know Paramount sucks. I didn't expect better. That's why I don't buy their crap.
