OK...This is a warning to anyone who is a nimrod like I am. I recently found out that in my 500+ movie collection I was missing Zombie by Fulci. Yes, I know. Blasphemy. Here's what happened. Turned out the movied I labeled as "Zombie" was actually a movie called "Zombie Flesh Eater" by some dude named Amando De Ossorio. Now, if you look at IMDB, Zombie by Fulci is also listed as having the title "Zombie Flesh Eaters". So if you miss the "S" in "Eaters" you end up with some crap movie by some unknown director named Ossorio instead of having a classic of Italian Horror. Goddamn whops. Why did I go and get born into a race like that? ![]() |

I don't know if it's been released on this board. I have it as part of a collection of DVD's I bought at a Con thinking it was Zombie by Fulci when it wasn't. As for this movie being good, I say I wouldn't know, because I didn't watch it. I was too upset over it NOT being Zombie by Fulci to watch it. I had a Jones to see that boat scene with the big fat bald Zombie and then I couldn't watch it and I fell into a pit of dismay the likes of which you've never seen. But I think it's a fair call to say that 90% of the movies we talk about on here are crap. I mean, I love em as much as everyone else. Crap isn't necessarily bad. But to say they aren't crap is a little self-deluding. Better to say "Yes, it's crap, and I like it anyway". |

If you look at it that way, what movie isn't crap? What entertainment isn't crap? Are we supposed to look only at the "art" film or dramas as some higher form, above the label? I don't think so. There are some movies that are crap. But I sure as hell don't spend much time talking about them. Evil Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Argento, Fulci's transcendant moments, Ju-On, Ringu, The Thing, The Fly, etc. are not crap. They are masterpieces. They may only be masters of horror, but they are master filmmakers and artists. If you said that 90% of the movies released here are crap, I would agree (90%+ of all movies are crap), but not the ones we talk about. We talk about the classics and the near misses. At least, I do. Oh, and Armand DeOssorio is not an unknown. He doesn't crack my top ten favorite directors list, but some of the moments from the Blind Dead series are etched on my brain and I'd welcome the chance to burn in a few more. |

What are you gonna release? Release Don't Torture a Duckling (1972). Supposed to be one of Fulci's best. Or screw Fulci and release Three on a Meathook (1972). That movie is supposed to be badass, and it's as rare as the Panda. <img src="http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/39657000/jpg/_39657495_panda.jpg"> Mei Sheng say "Release the movies I want, or I'll shove Bamboo up your butt". |

Point Taken. And Armand DeOssorio was unknown to me until I ran into this confusion. But I'll check out the trilogy. |
