..Where that young guy assistant professor "Knowby", in demon possessed state , gets his head diagonally split in half...green blood gushing out of half that head....all VISIBLE ! ...not some cheap silouette suggesting it....? As I upgraded my divx collection with more up to date rips , notimportant's rip of fileheaven certainly doesn't contain it , despite being 84 mins ....and that was of the remastered dvd I take... It was in on the dutch VHS rental.....(or was it Vcc/video2000 rental ? can't recall...such a long time I saw it)... Anyone ever seen it ? |

I've seen rough footage of it and pictures, but not the scene in the movie, in context. |

According to the sfx guys in the making-of in the uk boxset, the scene was never filmed properly and any exisiting footage lost. They could be lying tho :s |

Nope, DVD goes to silhoutte, I was positive I'd seen that scene, cos he looks up at the top of his head that's missing and his tongue moves around. I'll check my VHS too if you want? Actually, I may have saw it on the documentry cos there was mention of footage that was screwed up, and you could see the print was unusable. There were scenes they only have stills also that were destroyed. They showed another scene that was dropped because the FX didn't work too. |

Okay, according to the sfx guys, the footage is lost. He was asked for the footage and he didn't have it. So maybe it made it into the early prints, but there's allegedly no footage of it available unless the guy made a mistake. What it does have though is some shots of the puppet which he says is the only remaining footage of it. ![]() However, empire has a large shot of it in its ultimate guide to horror which is clearly taken from the movie (since it has the backdrop behind the picture), and I was quite sure I'd seen it, since he gets back up and he's running around, and there's that bit which I described where he looks up at his missing top. ![]() So I reckons that it may have been in the original, then some tits censored it, and then lost the negatives now that censors aren't as lame as they used to be |

After giving it some more deep thought I must stand by what I've claimed.... the footage DOES exist somewhere....... For other non-gore brief scenes come back into mind.....this guy , that young assistant prof , didn't go into demon state from one second into another as the flick seems to suggest....... You got one or two ,*VERY* short scenes edited in between where the guy VISIBLY & stage by stage, fell to this fever.....and then to demon state ... I suspect raimi deliberately cut it out ......so you wouldn't see it comming...... ![]() ![]() Anyone out there with a first edition DUTCH rental ( Esselte & CIC home distributor version) release out there ? ![]() |

I'm not sure this is a case where 'uncut' is the right word, perhaps extended is what your looking for? I don't think the scene was censored since the techie doesn't seem to think its that bad... and I've definitely seen the blood squiting out of his head (green and all ![]() The silhoutte technique is used all through the movie, so I'm thinking its not a censor thing. Who knows, no one in the industry seems to give a crap about keeping all the negatives after they make a movie ![]() |

Well, I now know I HAVE definitely seen that. But strangely it is not on my copy. I "might" have a pirate VHS from years back, will try to find it if I can. Anyone know roughly how long a VHS will last if just left in a cupboard? I dug out a few of my old pirates the other week and they had degraded to the point a few of them were unwatchable. |

I had an original big-box rental VHS but can't find it for the life of me. It's on BBC1 tonight although I guess this will be the DVD version. |

I saw it in some footage in a KNB documentary from years ago. Someone listed an "uncut" Evil Dead 2 on their bootleg list way back when, but admitted it was just behind the scenes-type footage edited into the movie. Spud, that Ultimate Guide to Horror pic looks like an onset pic from Fangoria. |

I tried to cap this last night but the PDC didn't work and it cut out before the end (my own fault for using Sky for a better quality cap, should have realised PDC never works for terrestrial channels on Sky). Can someone remind me whereabouts this scene is so I can check it though. |

It's where he bites the lasses hair, its well into the movie, you'll see him lying on the couch immediately before, and he tries to 'rescue' mom from the basement. |
