Everybody loves Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, but there are many more that should be aknowledged as great horror comedys. My favorites are

Highway to Hell - The best depiction of hell ever created! Such a great movie
I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle - even the title makes me grin.
Re-Animator - Offcorce.....
Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers - to quote myself 'hahahah'
Return of the Living Dead - That half-dog.. =)
Braindead and Bad Taste - Peter Jackson once was a legend. wait a minute, he still is!
A few Tromas - 'WATCH IT, HE'S ARMED!!!' LOL
Plan 9 From Outer Space - How can anyone say this is bad?

what more?

The Convent
Eight Legged Freaks
Starship Troopers (not sure if this really counts)
Psycho Beach Party
The Story Of Ricky
Ichi The Killer

To be honest, I see Starship Troopers as one of the most accurate war films in regards to the american warmachine  The style meant that what should be horrific in war was funny and brilliant. I think it's a decent vision of how many 'patriots' see war, and i think that was what it was meant to be :(

Germlins 1 and 2
Ghost busters
Little Shop of Horrors
Jabberwocky (okay, fair cop it's a comedy, but it's based upon Lewis Carrol's Jabberwocky [poem about a monster])

I would put Fright Night in this category too...... Braindead is also excellent.

yup says in massive letters on the front of the box, which seems odd before his LOTR success, normally that treatment is reserved for Wes Craven, Speilberg and a couple of others. Got a fair mention on that cover :)

hahhahaha
i was a grunt.

and
the item-not many people like this movie. reminds me of resevoir dogs and braindead.

but you were not surseptable to the propaganda machine back home which is what the movie is about, the film is not about front line or even fighting, it's about propaganda and presentation. Listen to the news next time US troops are enganged in warfare, it's normally made out to be "sensational", it's a lot like it is in the uk on tv nowadays too.

Yeah i've noticed that a lot of people don't like it too, was mentioned in the 'worst movies thread' over at fh, but it was defended bitterly. Seems the guy posting didn't pick up on directors intention, the audio commentry is highly recommended and emphasises the portrayal of war to non-combatants.

:)

i was joking about it being accurate btw  I don't think we've attacked Klindathu yet

I heard the book put even more emphasis on this ironic anti-propaganda. never got ahold of it though.

yip, the item is decent enough, though some of it was godawfull. i'm not a fan of it, but i dont think anything too bad about it either. its a film people should see if they are a fan of braindead/deadalive at least 1 time before bitching, unless they use my 'premade opinionometer review-o-matic'(not copyrighted, use at own risk.)

i always though the military was seen by othercountries to be like darth vader/the empire's storm troopers. like everything everywere, its all about big business + money. not to sound unpatriotic (i could go to jail or be investigated for sounding unpatriotic), but i could go to jail or be investigated for being unpatriotic.

on a different note, did anyone else notice how the pilot episode of 'the lone gunmen' was about crashing planes into the world trade center?

na, patriotism is gay, don't bother with that shit :)

Yes it will never be shown in the uk. It's banned here by sci-fi as a mark of respect and taste.... those bastards. Lone Gunmen didn't arrive in this country until this year and there was a little preview saying it won't be shown and will start with episode 1.

I think i downloaded the pilot somewhere though.
