Does this ring a bell??

I apologize to the moderators if this is in the wrong area, but I didnt know where to put it.

I have been racking my brains and the web for a month now trying to find out the name of a movie I was as a kid, where aerial photographers/surveyors took photos of american desert scrub and some of the photos had a red smudge through some parts.

They later realised this red smudge appeared where an earthquake later happened.

I think later on they see he red smudge appear over a town and try to warn everyone to leave but people dont believe them.

Is this film "The Day the Earth Moved"? The synopsis's i'm finding on the web point in that direction, but I cant find anything about the red smudges on the photos....

Thanks in advance.... and i'm sorry again if i posted in the wrong area.

felix.

The IMDB synopsis REALLY makes it sound like it is The Day the Earth Moved.

Quote:
A pair of aerial photographers discover that due to a flaw in the film they are using that they can predict when and where an earthquake is about to hit. When they discover that a quake is about to strike a small desert community, the two photographers race against time to save the inhabitants before it is too late.

I'd be astonished if it's not.
