The director's cut, seen only on laserdisc, contains 12 minutes of additional footage; it includes additional screen time for Judge (John Astin), extra scenes at Frank's home with Stuart and Cyrus, two extra scenes at the jail featuring Stuart, Cyrus and Dammers and additional dialogue for Dammers as he recalls some of his horrific undercover assignments.

Haven't seen it in years and always heard about the infamous Laserdisc directors Cut.

Any-one got any info on it. Is it worth hunting down?

it's a comedy you mook :) it's not meant to be scary. Kind of like ghostbusters, beetlejuice or Jabberwocky... well to be fair ghostbusters/beetlejuice are scary for youngsters, but i don't think 'scariness' was even attempted, infact that would have made it an entirely different kind of film. I actually enjoyed the film, but I haven't seen the director's cut.

So, no-one nows about the directors cut???

Might try and hunt it down and then do an "any-body interested thread"

Although I think those threads are a waste because on this board it's horror. And horror isn't renowned for being a great movie so people will click on any shite!!!

I quite like the frighteners, it's funny and has an excellent (if slightly weird) performance by Jeffrey Combs :)

So I'd click yes. (Like I don't on everything anyway  )
