Better known for his masterful adaptation of famed Japanese novel Ring, director Hideo Nakata turned his hand to a complex thriller by the name of Chaos (Kaosu) back in 1999.
Japanese director Hideo Nakata directs this psychological thriller based on the book by Shogo Utano. When Takayuki's wife is kidnapped, he must come up with a large sum of money for her release. Unbeknownst to him though, his wife has staged the entire kidnapping. A series of double and triple crosses occur as Takayuki, his wife and the kidnapper become entwined in a rather confusing, yet suspenseful, game of deceit and murder.
