there was a CGI stlyed version of this kind of thing recently on tv, and its supposed to be miles better than this. I can vaguely remember this if I'm right in assuming it was that tv movie, and I wasn't very impressed. Factually inept.

Not a very good movie IMHO.

The whole story about Hitler "in love" with his niece is pretty much bullshit.
Historically there's no proof for that at all.
And when you're dealing with such a serious topic like Hitler you should sticki to the facts and not try to make an "entertaining" tv movie.
But Robert Carlyle delivers a very good performance.

for the interested there's a new german movie called 'Der Untergang' which deals with the last days of Hitler. it's said to be a great and close adaptation:
