When a Vietnam vet returns to his Louisiana home only to find his wife in bed with another man. Enraged, he kills them both, along with a child. Unfortunately, his wife's lover also kept birds, which promptly attack him and peck out his eyes, sending him fleeing the house. The story then jumps forward 20 years when a group of college students head out to the Louisiana Bayou to study birds and end up spending some time near a rundown old house. It isn't long before kids start dying at the hands of zombies and the aforementioned birds.
