Not really. A strange animal kills everyone who get the smell of goat meat on them. Nothing supernatural, nothing even close to whatever werewolf legend there is.

The chupacabra might be an urban legend, but a werewolf legend?

If at all the chupacabra is compared rather to some sort of vampire than werewolf.

Absolutely no hint that the chupacabra in this movie was once human, no transformation, no relation to the moon whatsoever, no special silver only weakness. Not even the term 'werewolf' was mentioned in this movie. Though I might have missed it.

"Mexican werewolf in Texas" was only a sucker title to cash in on the success of the other "xxx werewolf in yyy" titles.

Yeah its the same thing, they don't have a specific werewolf legend. The Mexican werewolf is the goat sucker is the chupacabra. The problem is its called the mexican werewolf but its not a werewolf. Its not the first time i heard this, and yes, it doesn't make sense. I think it stems from some of the eye witness acounts, some people drew a "wolf like man" as chupacabra and then there were newspaper headlines and what have you, which i assume is where this mexican werewolf name came from.

Its like the Yeti is a Sasquatch. Just a different name for the same thing, although with the yeti it makes sense.

Your right, its title is an obvious ripoff of the other franchise and that's pretty obvious, but its not like they made the mexican werewolf thing up, some other tool did that :)

I think i have an arthur c clarke "mysteries of the unexplained" book from the early eighties that calls it the mexican werewolf under a drawing.
