EL ATAQUE DE LOS MUERTOS SIN OJOS

RETURN OF THE BLIND DEAD/MARK OF THE DEVIL 5/RETURN OF THE EVIL DEAD

This second entry in the series is a bit more brutal and has a bit more pace than TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD and fans consider this the best part of the quartet.

Actually it's more of the same but a bit less atmospheric and a lot more action

Again it's my rip of the longer Spanish language print with inbaked English subs

Language: Spanish
Subs: English
Size: 699 MB (or 716,208 KB or 733,396,992 bytes)
Codec: DivX 5.0
Running time: 01:31:12 (131,197 fr)
Ratio: 720x432 (1.67:1) [=5:3]
Bitrate: 876 kb/s
FPS: 23.976
Audio: ac3 (0x2000) Dolby Laboratories, Inc
Bitrate: 192 kb/s (96/ch, stereo) CBR
Fs: 48000 Hz

hey kinky, i hope you don't mind a bit of ripping advice, but for such a low bitrate, its never a good idea to have a large res:
Code:
Ratio: 720x432 (1.67:1) [=5:3]
Bitrate: 876 kb/s

For a bitrate like that it should be closer to 512-6~~

720x is only suited to 1500kb/s style bitrates (plus where no horizontal cropping was involved).

The picture will be a lot sharper, and you'll preserve more detail by reducing the resolution in these cases.

This time you apllied IVTC, but still WHY are you hardcoding subs?
Bad bad thing

The version seems actually longer than any other one, so PLEASE, rip your movies WITHOUT harcoded subs, and post them separated, so people willing to use subs in another language will be able to read them.

Wtf is IVTC??

I prefer hardcoded subs because that way, you can't lose the subs. It has often happened to me that i couldnt find the subs or that no one seeded them. Not everyone knows how to aply subs, i received pm's with lots of questions on how to use seperate subs.

If you want the option of multiple subs, i suggest you buy the dvd's

:P

Damn, now i'm going to feel like a prat and mention some other stuff :( Firstly regarding IVTC:

ivtc is very important, read about it in my very rough guide to ripping:
http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?t=7124
Talks about what's important to do under the framerate section.

For such old movies, ac3 doesn't add much btw.

Regarding hardsubs vs softsubs:

IMO, I agree about hardsubs being bad in principle, I will always take softsubs since it doesn't impede on video quality and doesn't spoil it for people who aren't english. If you give people the chioce its far better than shoving that choice down their throats (or rather meaning they have no option but to download another rip or download and watch a movie with gobbledy gook on the screen).

I have loads of movies ruined with arabic, swedish, chinese, etc. forced subs over the top of the rip, and what's worse is it makes it near impossible to put english subs over the top of other subs :( It works both ways, if you give them the choice to use subs in a language they natively speak, its a lot more convient for everyone.

That's why i'm inclined to agree with wee.

Regarding the idiots/lazy sods that don't know how to use subs. If they don't know how to use subs, its their problem... its not like it is very well documented. A simple google search is all you need to do, its just laziness on their part, you shouldn't bow down to the idiot crowd. Simply re-pm this reply:

That pretty much sums up the sentiments.
Whereas if you don't like forced subs, or you don't speak the language that's splashed up on screen, there's no such option to turn them off... the rip is ruined for them :(

If its the 'loosing subs' which isn't really an issue in reality, especially if you submit them to subtitle sites (see the subtitle site thread in smalltalk), you can simply use a better container. MKV and OGM both support muxed subtitles, and the bonus is you can use seperate subs too since they aren't hardsubs.

On this site, although everyone seems to have a grasp of english that's rather impressive, a lot of members aren't actually english speaking natively. Rather impressive really since my other languages suck

Hehe Spud, I consider your post an EXTENDED edition of what I was going to reply.

hardsubs in this case are fine with me, but i agree with spud & weezee. there should be an option available for people who don't speak english ;)

I had no Idea Blue Underground put this version out!!!Slipped by me I suppose :D
As far as your rip goes....I won't even get into when to ivtc and when not to...I have had that out more times then not when this shit comes up...Most times I feel I am wasting my breath on people as I see the same situations just keep popping up again and again.

As far as the subs go...It's your rip...do what you want with it...hardcoded or soft makes no difference to me..as long as it is in english. Everyone has their own standards as far as what they want to include in a rip...I won't slam you or praise you for it. :D

By the way...with it beeing at a higher res rate,ac3 sound, the subs, and the ivtc issue...just be prepared for someone to turn around and proper you..Not saying STR would do it...but I am sure somebody will.
Don't cry...it happens to us all man.
