I had the 2.4 GB copy of POTC:DMC and my xbox wouldn't play it in one file, i had to split it |
No, you didn't
have to do anything of the sort. It plays
perfectly as a single file, just not from a disc. The problem is the disc format. I suggest you stop thinking as though it were 1999, and consider your backup solution taking into account the hdd price drops over the past years and taking advantage of your house's network (and upgrade it if neccessary). You will save time and money doing so.
I abandoned DVDr backups as a viable form of storage a year back; I do not have the time, money or levels of effort to flitter away on a backup solution that is matched and bettered by hdd.
The notion of tying myself down to burning stuff to disc just strikes me as backwards, and when you figure in that you can do a hell of a lot more to manage it efficiently and won't encounter as many problems.... DVD-r is for quickly copying stuff for friends or transporting now. The liklihood now is that it won't really matter that bluray, x-ray or z-ray (its 2 better

) maybe coming, hdd prices will go down in line and you will always have the advantage. Beyond DVD5 movies, its not really that useful burning to DVDr anymore.
So i will say without any doubt or ambiguity*:
Once again, it plays all of it. Its an xbox
* I tested this; with a 3.6GB file and then a 4.5GB file i just made by parsing together tv episodes, you can do everything you always can, fast forward, rewind, etc. No sync or playback issues.
