if you want tits watch the terrible Halloween remake... ...as for the two Grindhouse movies the reason I'm more exited about Planet terror is that i like Robert Rodriguez better as an director....I'm sick of Quentin Tarantino's quasi misplaced dialogs :wacky:

Planet terror was very funny... I liked death proof because of the aciton scenes at the end... but, you hit the nail when you mentioned the quasi misplaced dialogs hahaha.. tarantino's dialogs are extremelly crappy, even in a movie that was supposed to be crappy :wacky: :wacky:

********Halloween (REMAKE) SPOILER************
Yup... I saw Halloween on friday... I think it was good.. wasnt expecting too much, so I ended up a bit satisfied.. besides.. yeah.. those girls have nice tits (and 1 has a nice bush :D ) --the one's on the magazine WONT COUNT ;)
**********END OF SPOILER**********************

I also went into watching WAR.. fell asleep it was the crappiest bullshit I've ever seen.. it was a piece of shit, I was expecting more action and a better story.. got none; War might be SKIPPONG the AFR Rips from Shitbusters surely, 'cause it's a big piece of trash

Well this version has the lapdance (very nice), but nope no bare breasts. QT never does IIRC. This version also has different dialogue and I think 2 extra scenes (that add 'sense') though I noticed some dialogue was removed or changed. The soundtrack rules too!!!

This movie is just boring in my opinion. I tried to give it a second chance but there is too much idle chatter for my taste. Bring on Planet Terror.

thanks for this one!!!!!

excited to see this again,. even though i'm scared the "extended cut" will be TOO extended. tarrantino is usually no pussy when editing, though. back in the mid-90s, he'd hack anything that felt like it was slowing him down, but i don't know if he's still got that keen sense after so many years of doing lines in hollywood.

"I'm sick of Quentin Tarantino's quasi misplaced dialogs."

tarrantino used his tarrantino-isms brilliantly in Death Proof. the dialogue seemed annoying for the first 20 minutes or so until you realize that he's just building up characters and their relations mega fast so they can get killed off or wander out of the story. it was a really ballsy move and totally worked. Planet Terror was great, but it took no risks and therefore had no real originality, which made it fall slightly flat in comparison.

If you ask me, he's lost that.

Which characters wander out of the story? I remember none, but maybe I missed something.

I think Tarantino stuff is sometimes good, sometimes bad. Although I'm not accusing anyone here (I have the same discussion we have here in real life too), I have the feeling that some people take Tarantinos films and love them BECAUSE they are Tarantinos films. It's a bit like most pieces of art (or "art") I know of. People are impressed because it's called art, but actually it's just rubbish, or a flat painting with no meaning at all.

After having made Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, Tarantino couldn't reach that level anymore imo. Jackie Brown had a few funny moments but was overall a bit boring. Kill Bill was way too long and had no suspense at all. I consider Death Proof to be better than both JB and KB, but it still can't compete with RD and PF.

I'm the first to admit that nobody can EVER make the same bashing impression on a viewer with a new film after having done that already with an older film like Tarantino did with Pulp Fiction. Not even Tarantino himself. This sentence being a little confusing, I'll add that I mean to say that levels of surprise and impression depend heavily on the viewer. The director can't influence that for 100%.

I just read this on a German DVD site:

So I guess we have to wait in Europe pretty long again...

I joined the 2cds with virtual dub in a few minutes, then I spent some time on the subs, since they're captions, deleting the sound effect stuff and voila, got myself a subbed AFR :D at least for my taste it´s ok that way

The amount of waste and quality loss violates the AFR spec. You have got a 1/3rd sized movie, maybe, but you don't have an Advanced Filesize Regulation anymore than you have a TDX rip. ;)

If you want to be picky ;)

what spud intended to say is that an AFR version has different technical specs than just making 1 file of both cds (this is of course a very short explanaition, without getting into the technical stuff, which spud already said hehe)

Anyhow... watching the final minutes of this movie on the big screen was great... But on a tv... it doesnt even excites me

I'm saying AFR != a certain size of file, just because your file is sized 1/3rd DVDr it doesn't mean its a AFR.

Its like scene rips, they have to follow a long list of rules to be regarded as TDX rips (non-nukes).
