Although to be fair, the curse of lola actually happened in the late 80's when Craig McLachlan & Check 1-2 acended the Australian music charts with their 'revisionist' rendition of the song "lola".

Ahh, at least that kind of 'straight from the soapies to the pop charts' dreck doesn't happen these days..... *cough* Rouge Traders *cough*
