Anyone else download this?

I can't get any sound on it... G-Spot finds a compatible codec, so that shouldn't be the problem.

Did you try it with Videolan(VLC):

http://www.videolan.org

It has it's own codecs build-in, if that one doesn't play it's either a broken avi or a corrupted download(never had this though because of the anti-corruption control in emule)

The sound on mine was just fine until I tried to burn it to a disc. Then it went in and out all through the movie.

Well... like I said - according to GSpot, I have compatible codecs, so that shouldn't be the problem... I'll try installing some extra ones then - these darn codecs are driving me nuts sometimes...

I don't understand, what do you mean by this?
If you mean you re-encode to another format then the sync issue of your own doing, the issue is with the fact your re-encode (standard advice, why not buy a cheap second hand xbox and mod it? Means you don't have to re-encode)

I just burned the .avi file to a dvd along with some others. I hardly re-encode the files anymore since I purchased a dvd player that plays divx files as is. All the other files on the dvd played just fine except for this one. The sound basically just disappeared. Occasionally, throughout the movie, it would make popping sounds.

hmmm so you mean there's sound on your pc and not on your standalone, or that there's sound on neither anymore?

Burning alone doesn't make the sound dissappear.

Since two of you are having problems, i'm moving this to unverified until someone can confirm it works/doesn't work :)

It works on the pc just fine all the way through. It only happened whenever I tried to burn it, which I tried twice on two different kinds of discs.

Well... I still can't get the sound to work on mine. Doesn't seem like a codec issue either... seing as I've never had this problem before (and GSpot as I said, claim to find 4 compatible codecs for the file).

Found another link on the mule for the film though, another rip, so I'm giving that a go.

Although, you guys don't seem to have a problem... I'll offer the (unverified) e-link for the other version.

The above alternate link for the movie worked just fine for me. So consider it verified and HQ.
