   ? SUMMARY:                                               ???
The JU-ON: THE GRUDGE curse takes shudder-inducing fear to new heights: more
intense, persistent, hideous...it comes from the roof, from the floor
beneath your feet, from behind, from inside yourself. The angry spirits of
the malicious curse once again assault the senses. But this time # there is
    no escape.

   ? Rip Notes:
This movie is extreme. Not in blood or gore, it is extreme thematically.
Unlike modern US horror films that leave some sort of cop out exit door for
audience members, this film avoids that pitfall. And the FXs are just enough
to be effective. None of that FXs for the sake of FXs crap that makes US
films longer than they need be (and weaker story wise).

Better than RING? Better than KAIRO? Well, at least as good and certainly a
positive addition to the growing body of "Japanese Horror".

SYNOPSIS
"Ju-on: The Grudge 2" is the sequel to "Ju-on: The Grudge." That pretty much sums up the film, which is a typical sequel in giving the viewers more of the stuff that they got in the brilliant first film. The ghost of a murdered child still has a bone to pick with all humanity and especially with the humans who enter the house he used to live in. The scary sound effects the ghost makes when appearing don't work as well the second time as they did in the first film, when they stayed with you well after leaving the cinema and probably all through the night. The image of the ghostly boy is also a little over-used in part two. You can only show an underage ghost for so long before he becomes just a little boy with white paint on him. "Ju-on: The Grudge 2" still has some fine gross-out moments and a killer ending which makes it better than, say, "Poltergeist 2 or A Nightmare on Elm Street pt. 2."

Make sure to watch the 2 TV versions first. Then, the theatrical, Ju-On:The Grudge, then this one. There are no remakes in this series, only sequels.

And they are super scary, Stromjunkie, so give them a chance.

This is exactly what I would have said had he not beat me to it. Thank you for the remake comment...it drives me nuts when people try to say that The Grudge was a theatrical remake. It's a completely separate and different installment to the series damn it! :)

They are listed in the "Instant Sub Post" section just below the search boxes. The search hasn't been updated to include them yet.

:-o

Those subs are bloody terrible, possibly the worst I've ever seen (although the "I'm stooling" line from Bio Zombie was a close second  )

Hahaha! I love the "stooling" line though.

The worst I've seen is still Tomie, but then again I only watched 10 minutes of this before shutting it off...they were seriously ruining the movie for me. If I had watched the whole thing, they may very well have knocked Tomie out of the top spot.

Links to the first two, eh? There's 4 Ju-On movies, but I'm a bit busy right now. I'll post a thread in the Collections forum in a bit.

EDIT: Whoops, only mods can post there. I'll give you links in here in a bit.

Subs for all of these should be up at kloofy's, except the Alucardshark version (they're hardburned, English of course  ). Sorry for the lack of specs, but they all are 29fps if I remember correctly.
