Weakest part of the Grudge series, yet. But I think it is still watchable, though sometimes a bit confusing. However, I would not wait for part 3.

This one is just plain weak. So much that it's sad to see Shimizu Takashi's and Sam Raimi's names on it.

Lots of spots, repetitions and nothing really to speak of. Plus lots of dark shots and Japanese schoolgirls that are actually... Caucasian...?

So what? Cannot be improved by a little gore. But actually when it comes to gore/scare effects, this one really was the most harmless of the series.

Don't confuse 'Unrated' with 'more gore'.

Most unrated versions (of major releases at least) just add more scenes or extend existing ones, in this case the longer version is supposed to be more cohesive than the original cut and adds in more scenes of Toshio & Kayako.

One added scene is where Aubrey is on a bus and an old man plays peek-a-boo with Toshio (who is invisible to Aubrey). Wasn't this in Ju-On 1?

That peek-a-boo scene is in the 102 minutes PostX rip too. Yes, I think it is repeated from the first Ju-On. That, however, is one of my problems with this movie -- most of the scenes with either Toshio or Kayako are almost exact rehashes of what we've already seen. And as for the rest it's basically the 'replace the already dead characters with some new ones, which will get killed later' routine. I was yawning a lot while watching it, because I knew what and when was coming and how it would turn out. :/
