To be fair, the PosTX rip looks far better onscreen than the screenies posted suggest. Not to mention its definitely standalone friendly, which judging from the specs I'm not 100% certain is the case for the Cooldude rip.

No problem, let's compare screenshots. Pick a frame (or however many non-spoiler frames you want) in which you think the PosTX rip looks best and tell me the frame number.

So which part of the specs makes you think this rip isn't standalone friendly?

'<3' means the heart symbol in chat parlance. theNomad meant to say 'I love this movie heaps'.

Re: Unskinnyboy

First of all I never said the PostX rip looked better than yours. I just wrote that it looks better onscreen than the screenshots posted here would suggest. I have no relationship with PostX just that having watched their rip on both Xbox and a standalone player, I found it a very satisfactory experience.

Hence no reason to re-download it if you already have that version. Especially as this is an excellent movie that deserves to be owned on DVD.

The standalone friendlyness factor was an aside based on something I read earlier that day about certain MTK chipsets having issues with multiple consecutive B-VOPs. I could be mistaken though, but then I certainly didnt say that the cooldude rip was definitively incompatible either.

Replace satisfactory with tolerable and then i agree with you :) :)

On my HDTV tv it looks pretty poor, you can see the effects of the blurry picture and lowly resolution :( The fact that you mention standalone friendly has me guessing your display isn't very modern? That's understable how you don't see the big quality divide in that case :) You mention your using an xbox; your using some high quality component cables to link it up aren't you? It increases the picture quality significantly, composite don't really do a brilliant job.

For a fantasy movie like this where the visuals account for a lot, its pretty negative to your enjoyment though watching at low blurry res, like the 2cd rip with no advanced profile :)

I'm gonna hold out for a decent box set before i buy this one :)

I think he asked for screens to call your bluff and display how signifcant an improvement it is, rather take it as a case against the rip. If you do them side by side, it will be a easy win for the afr. Unfortunately i deleted the postx release i got immediately so i can't humour the point by posting them :)
