its got some cut scenes in it.

Came about 1 year after they finally released this movie on DVD in the uk. There's a different ending and it has scenes like the 'crab walk' which aren't in the original movie.

i take it you mean the 25th anniversary edition? :)

The version you've never seen before has a lot more content in the actual movie the theatrical doesn't have :wacky: hehe

The 25th has an extra disc:
http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=663

Different versions of the movie; the 25th has a different version of the movie and none of updates as this version.

Reading the dvdcompare.net writeups, i think i lucked out here and landed all three alternative prints without realising. I bought the exorcist in the usa before the 'ban' was lifted in the uk and got the original theatrical vesion. I then bought the version you've never seen before in the uk, and i won an auction for a limited edition box set for the exorcist... I assumed it was the same edition as the us one i bought but its 25th anniversary with all the extra content.

So 25th has some small changes from the original, the version you've never seen is a director's cut, and the other edition only available in the states is an original theatrical print.

So technially, you need to buy all three if you want all the 'extras'

Warning, spoilers in these print comparisons:
http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCompare5/exorcist.htm

I wouldn't click until seeing the version you've never seen before.

Great stuff. I prefer 'The Exorcist III' myself, that would be worth sharing if anyone has it. The second one is a bit more of a guilty pleasure, a load of nonsense :D

I have them all except (i've rechecked) and I have the never before seen and the 25th.. so I'm missing the original :(

Hope there's a rip soon :D

I want the old version I saw as kid. This one just gets a little silly, well beyond the original silliness ;)

Though a nice rip and worth getting!

:beerchug: Thanks DK and ROGUE :beerchug:
